2. Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when assembling or maintaining your computer system to reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or injury.

• Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet before installing or removing any components.
• Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to components.
• Handle components carefully. Avoid touching pins or circuit boards directly.

5. Setup and Component Installation

Follow these steps for assembling your PC components into the Acegeek Shield D440 case.

5.1 Preparing the Case

1. Unpack the Case: Carefully remove the case from its packaging.
2. Remove Side Panels: The tempered glass side panel is typically hinged or secured with thumbscrews. Open or remove it. The solid metal side panel on the opposite side is usually secured with thumbscrews at the rear.

5.2 Motherboard Installation

1. Install I/O Shield: If your motherboard came with a separate I/O shield, snap it into the opening at the rear of the case.
2. Install Standoffs: Ensure the correct standoffs are installed for your motherboard form factor (ATX, Micro-ATX, ITX). The case typically has pre-installed standoffs for ATX.
3. Position Motherboard: Carefully align your motherboard with the standoffs and the I/O shield.
4. Secure Motherboard: Use the provided screws to secure the motherboard to the standoffs. Do not overtighten.

5.3 Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation

1. Locate PSU Bay: The PSU bay is located at the bottom rear of the case, under the shroud.
2. Insert PSU: Slide the PSU into the bay, ensuring the fan faces downwards (if the case has a bottom vent) or upwards.

5.4 Storage Drive Installation (HDD/SSD)

1. 2.5" SSDs: Mount SSDs directly onto the dedicated brackets behind the motherboard tray using the provided screws.
2. 3.5" HDDs: Locate the drive cage, typically beneath the PSU shroud. Slide HDDs into the trays and secure them with screws or tool-less clips if available.

5.5 Graphics Card (VGA) and Expansion Card Installation

1. Remove Slot Covers: Remove the necessary PCI-E slot covers from the rear of the case corresponding to your graphics card or other expansion cards.
2. Insert Card: Carefully insert the card into the appropriate PCI-E slot on the motherboard.

5.6 Fan and Radiator Installation

5.7 Cable Management

Utilize the 20mm space behind the motherboard tray and the included cable ties to route and secure cables. This improves airflow and aesthetics.

1. Connect all power cables from the PSU to the motherboard and components.
2. Connect front panel cables (USB, audio, power/reset switches, LEDs) to the motherboard headers. Refer to your motherboard manual for correct pin assignments.
3. Route cables through the grommets and tie-down points.

6. Operating Your PC Case
