Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the sewing machine from its packaging. Retain all packing materials for future storage or transport. Inspect the machine for any visible damage. Ensure all included accessories are present, as listed in the packing contents.

2. Power Connection

Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Connect the foot controller plug to the machine's power socket and then plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the 'OFF' position before connecting.

3. Winding the Bobbin

  1. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
  2. Guide the thread through the upper thread guide and around the bobbin winding tension disc.
  3. Insert the thread through the hole in the bobbin and place the bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
  4. Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right.
  5. Press the foot controller to start winding. Stop when the bobbin is full.
  6. Cut the thread and remove the bobbin.

4. Threading the Machine

Proper threading is crucial for good stitch quality. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Raise the presser foot lifter.
  2. Place the thread spool on the spool pin.
  3. Guide the thread through the upper thread guide.
  4. Bring the thread down through the right channel, around the tension discs, and up through the left channel.
  5. Thread the take-up lever from right to left.
  6. Guide the thread down through the thread guides to the needle.
  7. Use the automatic needle threader for convenience, or manually thread the needle from front to back.
  8. Insert the wound bobbin into the top drop-in bobbin case, ensuring the thread feeds correctly.
  9. Pull the bobbin thread up through the needle plate opening using the upper thread.

Operating Instructions

1. Stitch Selection

The SINGER 4432 offers 32 built-in stitches and 110 stitch applications. To select a stitch, turn the pattern selector dial to the desired stitch symbol. Refer to the stitch chart on the machine for available patterns.

2. Adjusting Stitch Length and Width

Use the stitch length dial to adjust the length of your stitches (up to 4mm) and the stitch width dial to adjust the width (up to 6mm). These adjustments allow for customization based on fabric type and project requirements.

3. Using the Automatic 1-Step Buttonhole

The machine features an automatic 1-step buttonhole function for consistent results. Attach the buttonhole foot, place the button in the foot's holder, and the machine will automatically sew a buttonhole to the correct size.

4. Drop Feed Function

For free-motion sewing, darning, or quilting, engage the drop feed lever to lower the feed teeth. This allows you to move the fabric freely under the needle.

5. Changing Presser Feet

The machine comes with several presser feet for different tasks. To change a presser foot, raise the presser foot lifter, press the black lever at the back of the foot holder to release the current foot, and snap the new foot into place.
