Proper setup is crucial for safe and efficient operation.

4.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the fast charger to a suitable power outlet.
  2. Insert the 20V 4.0Ah battery into the charger.
  3. Allow the battery to charge fully. The charger's indicator light will signal when charging is complete.
  4. Disconnect the battery from the charger once fully charged.

4.2 Installing the Guide Bar and Chain

  1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw.
  2. Loosen the Bar Tightening Knob and remove the side cover.
  3. Carefully place the saw chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges are facing the correct direction.
  4. Align the guide bar with the mounting studs on the chainsaw body.
  5. Replace the side cover and lightly tighten the Bar Tightening Knob.

4.3 Adjusting Chain Tension

The iBELL BS 20-08 features tool-free chain adjustment.

  1. With the side cover lightly tightened, rotate the Tension Adjusting Dial to achieve proper chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand.
  2. Once the tension is correct, fully tighten the Bar Tightening Knob to secure the guide bar and chain.
  3. Note: Chain tension may need to be adjusted frequently during initial use as the chain stretches.

4.4 Adding Chain Lubrication Oil

The chainsaw requires lubrication for the chain and guide bar. Oil is not included with the product.

  1. Ensure the chainsaw is off and the battery is removed.
  2. Unscrew the Oil Tank Cover.
  3. Fill the oil tank with appropriate chain lubricant (e.g., bar and chain oil). Do not overfill.
  4. Replace the Oil Tank Cover securely.
  5. Regularly check the transparent oil tank casing to monitor oil levels during operation.

5. Operating the Chainsaw

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation.

5.1 Starting and Stopping

  1. Insert the charged battery into the chainsaw until it clicks into place.
  2. To start, press and hold the Engine Lock Button, then squeeze the Control Handle (trigger). The chain will begin to move.
  3. To stop, release the Control Handle. For immediate shutdown, press the Engine Stop Button.
