Setup and Installation
- Positioning the Pump: Select a suitable location inside your aquarium for the wave maker pump. Ensure it is submerged and positioned to create optimal water flow without directly blasting sensitive corals or fish. The pump can be placed at various depths (top, middle, bottom) to achieve different flow patterns.
- Attaching with Magnetic Holder: Use the strong magnetic holder to secure the pump to the aquarium glass. Place the pump unit inside the tank and align the external magnet on the outside of the glass. The silicone sleeve on the holder helps reduce noise and prevents scratching. This magnetic base is suitable for glass thicknesses up to 5/8 inches (15 mm).

- Connecting the Controller: Connect the wave maker pump unit to the external controller. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the controller, then plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The system operates on a 24V low-voltage power supply for safety.

Operating Instructions
The external controller features a digital display and clear buttons for easy operation.

Controller Functions:
- Digital Display: Shows current flow level (1-20) or frequency level (1-20) and mode indicators.
- Light Sensor: Detects ambient light for automatic Day/Night mode switching.
- Mode Key (M button): Cycles through the four wave modes.
- '+' and '-' Buttons: Adjust flow rate or frequency depending on the selected mode.
- Feed Button (F button): Activates feeding mode.
Wave Modes:
Press the 'M' button to cycle through the following four wave modes:
- M1: Constant Wave Mode: Provides a continuous, steady flow. The flow rate can be adjusted from level 1 to 20 using the '+' and '-' buttons.
- M2: Classic Wave Cross-flow Mode: Creates a cross-flow wave pattern. The frequency level can be adjusted from 1 to 20.
- M3: Sine Wave Mode: Generates a smooth, oscillating sine wave pattern. The frequency level can be adjusted from 1 to 20.
- M4: Random Wave Mode: Produces an unpredictable, random wave pattern. The frequency level can be adjusted from 1 to 20.

Day/Night Mode:
The external controller is equipped with a light sensor. During the day, the wave maker operates in the mode and settings you have selected. When the ambient light dims (e.g., at night), the light sensor activates, and the pump automatically switches to a low flow state (displaying '01'). When the light brightens again, it reverts to the previously set normal mode.

Feeding Timing:
To feed your fish, press the 'F' button on the controller. You can select from 4 feeding durations: 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes. During this time, the pump will stop running, allowing fish to feed without strong water currents. After the selected time, the pump will automatically resume its previous operation mode.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your wave maker.
- Cleaning the Impeller: Periodically remove the pump unit from the aquarium and disassemble it to access the impeller. Clean any algae, debris, or calcium buildup from the impeller and its housing using a soft brush and aquarium-safe cleaning solution. Rinse thoroughly before reassembly.
- Checking Connections: Ensure all electrical connections are dry and secure.
- Inspecting Cables: Regularly check the power cord and pump cable for any signs of damage or wear.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your wave maker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Pump Not Running:
- Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into the outlet and the controller.
- Ensure the pump cable is firmly connected to the controller.
- Verify that the pump is not in feeding mode.
- Weak Flow:
- Increase the flow rate or frequency using the '+' button on the controller.
- Clean the impeller and pump housing for any obstructions.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not drawing air.
- Unusual Noise:
- Check for debris or foreign objects caught in the impeller.
- Ensure the magnetic holder is securely attached and the pump is not vibrating against the glass.
- Error Codes: The controller may display error codes to indicate specific issues.

Image: The controller displaying error codes. 'E4' indicates dry running (pump not submerged or water level too low), and 'E5' indicates motor blockage (impeller obstructed). In both cases, the pump stops working.
- E4 (Dry Running): Indicates the pump is not submerged or the water level is too low. Disconnect power, check water level, and ensure the pump is fully submerged before reconnecting.
- E5 (Motor Blockage): Indicates the impeller is obstructed. Disconnect power, remove the pump, and clean the impeller and housing thoroughly.
