Setup and Installation
Proper installation of the filter bag ensures optimal performance and prevents dust leakage. Follow these steps for correct setup:
- Open Vacuum Lid: Unlatch and remove the lid of your Shop Vac vacuum cleaner.
- Insert Bag: Carefully insert the new filter bag into the vacuum drum. Ensure the bag is fully unfolded inside the drum.
- Seal Around Inlet: Position the bag's cardboard collar firmly around the vacuum's inlet port. The rubber gasket on the bag's opening should create a tight seal to prevent dust from escaping. The opening of the rubber gasket is 1 1/2 inches.
- Close Lid: Once the bag is securely in place, reattach and latch the vacuum lid.

Operation
After successful installation, the vacuum cleaner can be operated as normal. The filter bag will effectively capture most small particles and dust, including wood dust, construction debris, and general dirt, preventing them from recirculating into the air or damaging the vacuum's motor.
These bags are designed for dry pick-up applications only. Do not use for wet vacuuming, as this can damage the bag and the vacuum.
Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your vacuum, regular replacement of the filter bag is recommended. The filtration bags have a long life, but for best results, replace the Shop Vac bags approximately every month, or sooner if the bag becomes full or suction power noticeably decreases.
Disposal: When the bag is full, or after use, carefully remove the bag from the vacuum. The collar system is designed to prevent dust from escaping during disposal. Discard the used bag into a proper receptacle.
