3.1 Antenna Installation
- Carefully screw the two 7dBi high-gain antennas onto the corresponding connectors on the top of the device.
- Ensure they are securely tightened but do not overtighten.
3.2 Cable Connection and Sealing
Proper sealing of the Ethernet cable is crucial for maintaining the IP67 weatherproof rating.
- Pass the RJ45 Ethernet cable through the spiral cover.
- Thread the cable through the rubber seal.
- Pass the cable through the holder.
- Connect the RJ45 cable to the RJ45 port on the device.
- Screw up the holder.
- Plug the rubber seal into the holder.
- Secure the spiral cover by screwing it on tightly.

4. Operating Modes
The WAVLINK AC1200 supports four primary operating modes:
4.1 AP/Router Mode
In AP (Access Point) mode, the device converts a wired network connection into a wireless one. In Router mode, it creates a private wireless network, allowing multiple devices to share an internet connection.

Image: Diagram showing the three main working modes: AP/Router Mode (device connected to modem/router, broadcasting Wi-Fi), Repeater Mode (device extending existing router's Wi-Fi), and AP+Repeater Mode (one device as AP, another as Repeater for long-distance extension).

Image: Visual representation of Repeater Mode, Router Mode, and AP Mode, showing how the WAVLINK AC1200 device connects to a router/modem and provides Wi-Fi to various client devices.
4.2 Repeater Mode
Repeater mode extends the coverage of an existing wireless network by amplifying and relaying the signal from your main router.
4.3 AP+Repeater Mode
This mode involves two devices: one configured as an Access Point and another as a Repeater, working together to extend Wi-Fi over longer distances.

Image: Diagram illustrating the AP+Repeater Mode, showing a router/modem connected to an AP device, which then extends its signal to a Repeater device for further long-distance Wi-Fi coverage to client devices.
4.4 Configuration
To configure the device, connect to its default Wi-Fi network (SSID: WAVLINK-AC XXXX or WAVLINK-N XXXX) or connect directly via Ethernet. Access the web-based management interface by navigating to the default IP address: 192.168.10.1. The default password is admin. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your desired operating mode and network settings.
5. Maintenance
- Regular Checks: Periodically inspect the device and cable connections for any signs of wear or damage, especially after severe weather conditions.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Check the WAVLINK official website for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Resetting: If the device is unresponsive or you forget the configuration password, press and hold the reset button for 8 seconds to restore factory default settings.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| No power/LEDs off | Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the PoE converter and a working power outlet. Check the Ethernet cable connection between the device and the PoE converter. |
| Cannot connect to Wi-Fi | Verify the correct SSID and password. Ensure the device is within range. Try restarting the device. If issues persist, perform a factory reset and reconfigure. |
| Poor Wi-Fi signal or speed | Adjust the device's position and antenna orientation. Ensure there are no major obstructions. Check for interference from other devices. Consider changing Wi-Fi channels in the configuration. |
| Cannot access web management interface | Ensure your device is connected to the extender's network (either wirelessly or via Ethernet). Verify your computer's IP address is in the same subnet as the extender (e.g., 192.168.10.x). Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser. Confirm the default IP address is 192.168.10.1. |
