1. Overview
The AT&T Internet Air 5G Gateway (Model NCM1120D2) provides ultra-fast internet connectivity powered by AT&T's 5G network. Designed for business internet data plans, this gateway is Wi-Fi 7 Ready, offering lower latency and increased bandwidth for multiple devices. Its plug-and-play design allows for quick internet access, and an intuitive web user interface (Web UI) enables easy network customization. The device supports 4G LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 14, 29, 30, 66, and 5G bands n2, n5, n14, n30, n66, n77. Please note that a Nano SIM card and associated services are not included and must be obtained separately from AT&T.
2. Package Contents
Ensure all items are present in your package:

Note: A Nano SIM card and an active AT&T Business Data Plan are required for operation and are not included in this package.
3. Device Layout
Familiarize yourself with the physical components and indicators of your AT&T Internet Air 5G Gateway.

Front Panel Indicators:
- 5G LED: Indicates 5G network status.
- 4G LED: Indicates 4G LTE network status.
- WiFi LED: Indicates Wi-Fi network activity.

Rear Panel Ports and Buttons:
- External Antenna Ports (ANT): Two SMA connectors for optional external antennas.
- WPS Button: For Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
- 2.5 GbE LAN Port (1): High-speed Ethernet port.
- 1 GbE LAN Ports (2, 3, 4): Standard Ethernet ports.

4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your AT&T Internet Air 5G Gateway:
- Insert Nano SIM Card:
- Locate the SIM Card Cover on the rear panel.
- Carefully remove the cover.
- Insert your activated Nano SIM card into the SIM Card Slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned correctly.
- Replace the SIM Card Cover securely.

- Connect Power Adapter:
- Plug the provided power adapter into the DC Power Port on the rear of the gateway.
- Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet.
- Power On and Initial Boot:
- The gateway will automatically power on.
- Wait for the SYSTEM LED on the front panel to turn solid white, indicating the device is ready.
- Observe the 5G and 4G LEDs. A solid white light on either indicates a successful cellular connection.
- Optimal Placement:
- Place the gateway in an open area, away from obstructions, and preferably near a window for optimal cellular signal reception.
- Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
- Connect Devices:
- Wi-Fi: Use the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password found on the device label or in the Web UI to connect your wireless devices.
- Ethernet: For wired connections, plug an Ethernet cable from your device into any of the LAN ports on the rear of the gateway.
5. Operating Instructions
Understanding LED Indicators:
- Solid White (SYSTEM): Gateway is powered on and operating normally.
- Solid White (5G/4G): Connected to 5G or 4G LTE network.
- Solid White (WiFi): Wi-Fi is active and devices are connected.
- Flashing (Any LED): Indicates activity or a specific status (refer to the full online manual for detailed flashing codes).
- No Light (Any LED): Feature is off or not connected.
Accessing the Web UI:
The Web UI allows for advanced configuration and monitoring of your gateway.
- Connect a device to the gateway via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Open a web browser and enter the default gateway IP address (usually
192.168.1.254or similar, check the device label). - Enter the administrator password (found on the device label) to log in.
- From the Web UI, you can:
- Change Wi-Fi SSID and password.
- Configure advanced network settings (e.g., port forwarding, firewall).
- Monitor connected devices and data usage.
- Update firmware.
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
For quick and easy connection of WPS-compatible devices:
- Press the WPS button on the rear of the gateway.
- Within two minutes, activate WPS on your client device.
- The devices will automatically connect.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the gateway. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Ventilation: Ensure the gateway's vents are not obstructed to prevent overheating. Maintain adequate airflow around the device.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates via the Web UI to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Restarting: If you experience connectivity issues, try restarting the gateway by unplugging the power adapter for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Internet Connection:
- Check if the 5G or 4G LED is solid white. If not, reposition the gateway for better signal.
- Ensure your Nano SIM card is correctly inserted and activated with an AT&T Business Data Plan.
- Restart the gateway.
- Slow Internet Speed:
- Verify optimal gateway placement.
- Check for network congestion (too many devices connected or high data usage).
- Ensure your devices are using the appropriate Wi-Fi band (5GHz for faster speeds, 2.4GHz for wider range).
- Wi-Fi Disconnections:
- Check for interference from other electronic devices.
- Ensure your device is within the Wi-Fi range.
- Update your device's Wi-Fi drivers.
- Factory Reset: If issues persist, a factory reset can resolve many problems. Use a paperclip or similar pointed object to press and hold the recessed Factory Reset Button on the rear panel for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash. This will erase all custom settings.
