4. Setup
4.1 Initial Charging
- Connect the charging cable to the adapter and plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- Place the radio into the charging base. Ensure the battery contacts align with the base contacts.
- The indicator light on the charging base will illuminate to show charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.
4.2 Attaching the Antenna and Belt Clip
- Screw the antenna clockwise into the antenna connector on top of the radio until it is secure. Do not overtighten.
- Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio using the provided screws.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
- To power on the radio, rotate the power/volume knob clockwise. You will hear a power-on tone.
- To adjust the volume, rotate the power/volume knob. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases it.
- To power off the radio, rotate the power/volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
5.2 Channel Selection
The NR30D features 64 channels. Use the channel selector knob on top of the radio to choose your desired channel. The display will show the current channel number.
5.3 Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to receive.
