Setup
Battery Installation
- Unscrew the tail cap of the headlamp counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
- Insert one AA battery (Alkaline, Ni-MH, or Li-ion 1.5V) with the positive (+) terminal facing towards the head of the lamp.
- Screw the tail cap back on clockwise until it is fully tightened. Ensure the O-ring is properly seated to maintain water resistance.

Headband Attachment
The headlamp can be easily attached to or detached from the included headband. Slide the headlamp into the bracket on the headband until it clicks securely into place. To detach, press the release tab on the bracket and slide the headlamp out.

Operating Instructions
The Fenix HM23 V2.0 is operated by a single large button switch located on the side of the headlamp.
Power On/Off
- To Turn On: Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds. The headlamp will activate in the last used white light mode.
- To Turn Off: Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds.
White Light Modes
When the headlamp is on, single-click the switch to cycle through the white light modes: Low → Med → High.
Red Light Modes
When the headlamp is switched off, double-click the switch within 0.5 seconds to activate the red light mode. Single-click to cycle between Red Constant-on → Red Flash.
Mode Memory
The headlamp remembers the last selected white light output level. When turned on again, it will activate in that mode. The red light modes do not have a memory function; it will always start in Red Constant-on when activated.
Adjustable Beam Angle
The headlamp features a 150-degree adjustable beam angle, allowing you to direct the light precisely where needed. Simply tilt the headlamp body up or down within its bracket.
