3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Tools Required (Not Included)
- Pencil
- Drill
- Stud Finder (for wood stud installation)
- Level
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Socket Wrench (appropriate size for lag bolts)
3.2 Installation Steps
- Locate Mounting Position: Determine the desired height and position for your monitor. For wood stud installation, use a stud finder to locate the center of a wood stud. For brick or concrete, ensure the wall is solid and free of obstructions.
- Mark Drilling Holes: Hold the wall plate against the wall at the desired height and use a level to ensure it is straight. Mark the drilling points through the holes on the wall plate with a pencil.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. The size of the drill bit will depend on your wall type and the provided hardware (refer to the hardware kit for specific drill bit sizes).
- Attach Wall Plate: Secure the wall plate to the wall using the appropriate lag bolts and washers provided in the mounting hardware kit. Ensure the wall plate is firmly attached and level.
- Attach VESA Plate to Monitor: Attach the VESA mounting plate to the back of your monitor using the screws that fit your monitor's VESA pattern. Ensure the screws are tightened securely.
- Mount Monitor onto Arm: Carefully lift the monitor with the attached VESA plate and slide it onto the monitor arm's VESA head. Ensure it clicks into place or is securely fastened according to the arm's design.
- Adjust Gas Spring Tension: The gas spring arm requires tension adjustment to properly hold your monitor's weight. Use the included Allen key to turn the adjustment screw on the arm. Turn clockwise to increase tension for heavier monitors, and counter-clockwise to decrease tension for lighter monitors. Adjust until the monitor stays at the desired height when moved.
- Cable Management: Utilize the integrated cable management clips or channels on the arm to route and secure your monitor cables, ensuring a clean and organized workspace. Cable ties are included for this purpose.
4. Operating and Adjustments
The WALI Monitor Wall Mount offers a wide range of motion for optimal viewing flexibility.
- Tilt Adjustment: The monitor can be tilted +50 degrees upwards and -20 degrees downwards to reduce glare and find the perfect viewing angle.
- Swivel Adjustment: The arm allows for a swivel of ±90 degrees at the wall plate and additional ±90 degrees at the monitor connection point, providing extensive horizontal movement.
- Rotation: The monitor can be rotated 180 degrees from landscape to portrait mode, or 360 degrees at certain joints for full flexibility.
- Extension and Retraction: The gas spring arm can extend up to 16.7 inches (42.4 cm) from the wall and retract to save space.
- Height Adjustment: The arm provides a height range of 10.6 inches (26.9 cm), allowing you to position your monitor ergonomically at eye level.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and safe operation of your WALI Monitor Wall Mount, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Loose connections can affect stability and safety.
- Cleaning: Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
- Gas Spring Adjustment: If your monitor's weight changes or if the arm no longer holds its position, re-adjust the gas spring tension as described in Section 3.2, Step 7.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your monitor wall mount, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Monitor Sags or Does Not Hold Position: This is typically due to incorrect gas spring tension. Adjust the gas spring screw (clockwise for heavier monitors, counter-clockwise for lighter monitors) until the monitor stays in place.
- Mount Feels Loose or Wobbly: Ensure all mounting screws securing the wall plate to the wall and the VESA plate to the monitor are tightened securely. Re-check the wall plate's attachment to the wall.
- Difficulty Moving the Arm: Check for any obstructions. If the arm is stiff, the gas spring tension might be too high for your monitor's weight. Try loosening the gas spring adjustment screw slightly.
- Monitor Not Level: Some VESA plates allow for minor rotational adjustment. If not, ensure the wall plate was installed perfectly level.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, please contact WALI customer support for further assistance.
