1. Introduction

With multiple unlocking methods and smart features, it is an ideal solution for bedrooms, offices, and apartments. This manual will guide you through the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new lock.

3. Installation Guide

3.1 Before You Begin

  • Ensure your door meets the following specifications:
    • Backset: 2-3/4" or 2-3/8" (70mm or 60mm)
    • Door Hole Diameter: 2-1/8" (54mm)
    • Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2-1/8" (35mm to 54mm)
  • Tools required: Phillips head screwdriver.
  • The lock is designed for indoor use only.

3.2 Installation Steps

Follow the detailed instructions provided in the product packaging for precise installation. A general overview of the steps includes:

  1. Remove your existing door knob.
  2. Install the latch into the door edge.
  3. Install the exterior knob assembly.
  4. Install the interior knob assembly, ensuring proper cable connection.
  5. Secure the lock with screws.
  6. Insert the battery and test the lock's functionality.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Fingerprint Unlock

  • To register fingerprints, use the GeekTale app (see Section 4.2).
  • Place your registered finger flat on the fingerprint sensor on the exterior knob.
  • The lock will emit a sound and the light will turn green if successful, allowing you to turn the knob and open the door.

4.2 App Control (Bluetooth)

Download the "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your lock via Bluetooth.

  • Manage Users: Add or delete user fingerprints and E-keys.
  • Access Log: View a history of who unlocked the door and when.
  • Share E-key: Grant temporary or permanent access to others via the app.
  • Settings: Adjust lock volume and other preferences.

4.3 Remote Unlock and Voice Control (with Gateway)

For remote unlocking and voice control via Alexa or Google Home, a GeekTale WiFi gateway (sold separately) is required. Connect the gateway to your home WiFi and link it to your lock through the "Smart Life" app.

4.4 Key Unlock

  • In case of battery depletion or other issues, you can use the provided physical keys.
  • Lift the small cover on the exterior knob to reveal the keyhole.
  • Insert the key and turn to unlock the door.

4.5 Lock Modes

The interior knob features a button to switch between three modes:

  • Auto Lock (Turn to Middle): The door will automatically lock after 5 seconds of being closed.
  • Passage Mode (Turn to Left): The door remains unlocked, allowing free entry and exit without authentication.
  • Security Mode (Turn to Right): Only an admin fingerprint or the app can unlock the door.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Management

  • The lock is equipped with a built-in 450mAh rechargeable Lithium Ion battery.
  • When the battery is low, the LED indicator will flash red and blue.
  • To charge, connect a USB-A to Type-C cable (not included) to the charging port on the interior knob.
  • The LED will be solid blue when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides up to 8 months of battery life.

5.2 General Care

  • Clean the lock with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the fingerprint sensor is clean for optimal performance.
  • Do not expose the lock to extreme temperatures or moisture, as it is designed for indoor use.

6. Troubleshooting
