4.2. Mounting the Linear Scale and Readout Unit
The linear scale and readout unit can be mounted in various configurations using the provided brackets and screws. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and stable.
- Mounting Brackets: Select the appropriate brackets for your application (e.g., L-shaped brackets for perpendicular mounting, flat brackets for parallel mounting).
- Linear Scale Placement: Position the linear scale beam parallel to the axis of measurement on your machine (e.g., router table, lathe bed). Secure it using the provided screws through the mounting holes.
- Readout Unit Placement: The remote readout unit can be attached to a convenient location using its integrated magnets or by securing it with a clamp (not included) or additional brackets.
- Cable Connection: Connect the cable from the linear scale to the digital readout unit.

- ON/OFF: Press this button to power the device on or off.
- ZERO: Press this button to reset the current measurement to zero at any position. This is useful for setting a new reference point.
- mm/in: Press this button to switch between millimeter (mm) and inch (in) measurement units.
- ABS: Press this button to toggle between absolute measurement mode and relative measurement mode.
- SET: In imperial standard measurement state, each press of this button cycles the fractional resolution between 1/32, 1/64, and 1/128.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the linear scale and readout unit clean and free from dust, debris, and liquids. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: When the display becomes dim or unresponsive, replace the CR2032 batteries as described in Section 4.1.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in its protective case in a dry, temperate environment.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display: Check if the device is powered on. Ensure batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the linear scale is securely mounted and free from obstructions. Clean the scale surface. Verify that the scale is properly connected to the readout unit.
- Buttons Unresponsive: Check for any physical obstructions. If the issue persists, try replacing the batteries.
