1. Product Overview

The Zacurate Pulse Oximeter 500DL is designed to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels and pulse rate. It features a large digital LED display for easy reading.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery cover located on the back of the device.
  2. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery cover securely.

2.2 Attaching the Lanyard

  1. Insert the loop of the lanyard into the lanyard holes on the device.
  2. Thread the lanyard strap through the loop.
  3. Pull the lanyard strap until it is tight and secured.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Taking a Measurement

  1. Insert one finger completely into the rubber opening of the oximeter with the nail facing upwards.
  2. Press the power button once to turn on the oximeter.
  3. Keep your hand still and avoid movement during the measurement.
  4. The display will show your SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) and PR (pulse rate) within approximately 10 seconds.
  5. The device will automatically power off after 8 seconds of inactivity.

3.2 Understanding the Display

  • %SpO2: Blood Oxygen Saturation Level. Normal range is typically 95-100%.
  • PR bpm: Pulse Rate in beats per minute.
  • Bar Graph: Indicates pulse strength.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Oximeter

  • Clean the surface of the oximeter with a soft cloth dampened with a mild disinfectant (e.g., 70% isopropyl alcohol).
  • Do not immerse the device in water or any cleaning solution.
  • Ensure the device is dry before use.

4.2 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries as described in the "Battery Installation" section (2.1). Always use new AAA batteries.

4.3 Storage

Store the oximeter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided silicone cover for protection.

5. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No display after power on Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed. Replace batteries or reinstall them correctly.
SpO2 or Pulse Rate unstable Finger not inserted properly, patient movement, or nail polish/artificial nails. Reinsert finger, remain still, remove nail polish/artificial nails.
"Finger Out" message Finger not detected or improperly placed. Ensure finger is fully inserted into the sensor.
