Setup
Unpacking and Assembly
The MechMaxx GS1500 is shipped in a sturdy plywood container on a pallet and requires assembly. Due to its weight (441 pounds), it is recommended that two people assist with the assembly process.
- Carefully unpack all components from the shipping crate.
- Refer to the included assembly diagram for detailed steps on attaching the wheels, towbar, and discharge chute.
- Ensure all fasteners are securely tightened before initial operation.
- Verify all electrical connections, especially for the E-Start system. If a wiring diagram is not clear, contact customer support.
Initial Checks
- Engine Oil: Check the engine oil level using the dipstick. Fill to the recommended level with appropriate engine oil (refer to engine manual for type and viscosity).
- Fuel: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill.
- Battery (E-Start models): Ensure the 12V 20Ah battery is fully charged and properly connected.
- Blades: Inspect the chipping blades for sharpness and proper installation.

Operating Instructions
Starting the Engine
- Ensure the chipper is on a stable, level surface.
- Open the fuel valve and set the choke to the 'ON' position (if the engine is cold).
- For E-Start models, insert the key and turn it to the 'START' position. Release when the engine starts.
- For pull-start models, firmly pull the recoil starter handle until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the 'OFF' position as the engine warms up.
Feeding Material
- Allow the engine to reach full operating speed before feeding material.
- Feed branches and brush into the hopper slowly and steadily. The maximum chipping diameter is 5 inches.
- Do not force material into the chipper. Let the machine do the work.
- Use the provided push stick for smaller pieces to keep hands clear of the intake.
- The 360° rotating discharge chute allows for precise direction of chipped material. Adjust as needed to direct chips away from the operator and sensitive areas.
