5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for safe and proper installation of your FORT Smart LED Recessed Lights.

5.1 Pre-Installation

  1. Turn off Power: Before starting any electrical work, ensure the power supply to the installation area is turned off at the circuit breaker.
  2. Verify Components: Unpack all fixtures and components. Inspect for any damage.
  3. Prepare Hole: Using the provided template or measuring carefully, cut a 5.91-inch diameter hole in the ceiling at the desired location.

5.2 Wiring and Installation

  1. Open Junction Box: Open the cover of the junction box.
  2. Connect Wires: Connect the household electrical wires to the junction box wires:
    • Connect the black wire (Live) from the household circuit to the black wire of the junction box.
    • Connect the white wire (Neutral) from the household circuit to the white wire of the junction box.
    • Connect the green or bare copper wire (Ground) from the household circuit to the green wire of the junction box.
    Ensure all connections are secure using appropriate wire connectors.
  3. Close Junction Box: Securely close the junction box cover and place the junction box into the ceiling opening.
  4. Connect Light Fixture: Connect the cable from the recessed light fixture to the junction box cable using the provided waterproof connector. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  5. Insert Light Fixture: Push the spring clips on the sides of the recessed light upwards and insert the fixture into the ceiling hole. The clips will automatically secure the light against the ceiling.

5.3 Power On and Initial Pairing

  1. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. The lights should turn on.
