6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Connectivity Issues

  • Sensor not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. The sensor does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Verify your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz signal.
  • App not discovering sensor: Make sure your smartphone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active during the pairing process. Ensure the sensor is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Frequent disconnections: Check the signal strength of your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network at the sensor's location. Consider moving the router closer or using a Wi-Fi extender if necessary.

6.2 Sensor Not Triggering

  • No open/close detection: Confirm that the main sensor and magnetic component are aligned correctly, with their alignment notches facing each other.
  • Gap too wide: Ensure the gap between the two parts does not exceed 0.7 inches (1.8 cm) when the door/window is in its closed position. Adjust the position if needed.
  • Dead battery: Check the battery level in the app. Replace batteries if they are low or depleted.

6.3 App Notifications Not Received

  • Notification settings: Verify that app notifications are enabled for Smart Life/Tuya Smart in your smartphone's system settings.
  • App permissions: Ensure the app has the necessary permissions (e.g., for notifications, background activity) on your device.
  • Internet connection: Confirm your smartphone has an active internet connection to receive notifications.
