Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective operation of your SwellPro FD1+ Fisherman Drone. Designed for drone fishing, the FD1+ features IP67 waterproofing, a substantial bait capacity, and user-friendly controls. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the drone to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Setup
1. Battery Charging
Before first use, fully charge the drone battery using the provided charger. The charger is designed for LiHV Balance Charging. Ensure the black cable is inserted into the black port, the red cable into the red port, and the balancer cable into the last remaining slot. Never set the charger above 4 amps; 2.5 amps is recommended for optimal battery life. The charger will beep and display "FULL" when charging is complete.

2. Remote Controller Battery Installation
The remote controller requires four fresh AA batteries. Open the battery compartment on the backside of the remote and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
3. Drone Battery Installation
Firmly push the charged drone battery into its designated slot on the drone. Ensure it clicks into place. Close the watertight hatch and lock it securely to prevent water ingress.
4. Propeller Installation
Each propeller is marked 'A' or 'B'. Match the propeller to its corresponding motor. Tighten each propeller by hand first, then use the provided prop wrench to snug them up with a few more clicks. Ensure they are firmly attached but do not overtighten.
5. Payload Leash and Bait Attachment
Create a short dropper loop to use as a payload leash and attach it to your fishing rig's swivel. Secure your bait onto the hook. Place the loop of the payload leash into the drone's release mechanism. Press the payload switch on your remote to secure it before flight.
6. Pre-Flight Checks & Calibration
Before powering on the remote, ensure all switches are in the 'up' position. Power on the remote; the drone will begin to calibrate itself. Monitor the remote interface: check remote voltage (keep above 4.5 volts), current flight mode (GPS, Atti, or Cruise), drone battery voltage (keep above 24 volts), and GPS satellites (wait for at least 9 satellites before flight). Calibration typically takes about three minutes.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Flight Controls
Stand at least 3 meters away from the drone. To engage the motors, push both joysticks down and inwards simultaneously. The left joystick controls vertical position (up/down) and yaw (left/right rotation). The right joystick controls horizontal movement (forward/backward, left/right strafing).

2. Bait Release
Once the drone is positioned over your desired bait drop location, press the payload switch on the remote to release the bait. The drone will then be free to return.
3. Auto-Return Function
To initiate the auto-return function, press the "Return to Home" switch on the remote. The drone will automatically fly back to its take-off point. This feature is also triggered in emergencies such as low battery or signal loss.
Maintenance
1. Post-Flight Cleaning
After each use, especially in saltwater environments, thoroughly rinse the drone with fresh water. This is crucial to prevent sand or salt buildup, which can affect the drone's performance and longevity. Never skip this step.
Troubleshooting
- Drone not powering on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Check the remote controller batteries.
- Loss of signal: Ensure you are within the 1.3 KM operating range. Check for environmental interference. The drone's auto-return feature should activate.
- Drone flips in water: Utilize the auto-flip feature by manipulating the joysticks to right the drone.
- Propellers not spinning: Ensure motors are engaged by pushing joysticks down and in. Check for any obstructions around the propellers.
