3. Installation and Setup
This section provides general guidelines for installing your Teka DVT PRO 98780 TCS BK hood. Professional installation is recommended.
3.1 Pre-installation Checklist:
- Verify all components are present and undamaged.

- Decide on exhaust method: ducted (external) or recirculation (internal with optional regenerative filters).
3.2 Mounting the Hood:

- Drill holes and insert wall plugs.
- Secure the mounting bracket to the wall.
- Carefully lift and hang the hood onto the mounting bracket.
- Connect the exhaust ducting (if applicable).
- Connect the electrical supply.

4. Operating Instructions
The hood is operated via the digital touch control panel located on the front glass surface.
4.1 Control Panel Functions:
- Power Button: Turns the hood on/off.
- Speed Selection (+/-): Adjusts extraction speed from 1 to 3.
- Intensive Speed Button: Activates the highest extraction speed for powerful ventilation. This speed typically runs for a set period (e.g., 5-10 minutes) before returning to the previous speed.
- Light Button: Turns the LED lights on/off.
- Fresh Air Function Button: Activates the Fresh Air mode, which cycles the fan on for 10 minutes and off for 50 minutes over a 24-hour period to maintain air freshness.
- Timer Button: Sets a delay for the hood to turn off automatically.
4.2 General Operation:
- Press the Power button to turn on the hood.
- Select the desired extraction speed using the +/- buttons. For heavy cooking, use the Intensive speed.
- Press the Light button to illuminate your cooking area.
- To activate the Fresh Air function, press its dedicated button.
- After cooking, allow the hood to run for a few minutes to clear residual odors before turning it off.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your hood.
5.1 Cleaning the Exterior:
- Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning.
- Wipe the black glass and stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, corrosive detergents, or metal brushes, as these can damage the surface.
- The glass panel can be opened using the pistons for easier access and cleaning of the interior surfaces.
5.2 Cleaning Metallic Grease Filters:
- The metallic grease filters should be cleaned regularly, depending on usage (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).
- To remove filters, locate the release latches and pull them down.
- Filters can be washed by hand in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
- The additional removable tray can also be placed in the dishwasher for deep sanitization.
5.3 Regenerative Filters (Optional, for Recirculation Mode):
- If using the hood in recirculation mode with optional regenerative filters, these filters eliminate up to 95% of odors for approximately three years.
- Refer to the specific instructions provided with the regenerative filters for their cleaning or replacement schedule.
