Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your URintells Cuising EM5220-US Espresso Machine. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference. This semi-automatic espresso machine features a 20-bar pressure system, 1350W fast heating, a colorful touchscreen control panel, and a powerful milk frothing system, allowing you to prepare a variety of coffee beverages.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Remove any protective films or stickers.
  2. Cleaning: Before first use, wash the water tank, portafilter, and filters with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  3. Water Tank Installation:

    Remove the 40.58 oz (1.2 Liters) removable water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Ensure the tank is securely placed back into position. Only water should be added to the water tank.

  4. Initial System Flush (Before First Use):

    To release air from the water pump and ensure smooth coffee flow:

    • Fill the water tank and turn on the power button.
    • Press the ON/OFF button on the touchscreen.
    • Once preheated, turn the Steam/Hot Water knob on the side to the "ON" position.
    • Observe water flowing out of the steam wand.
    • Turn the knob to the "OFF" position once water flows consistently.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On & Pre-heating:

    Plug the machine into a 120V AC outlet. Press the Power button on the touchscreen. The machine will begin pre-heating (approx. 30 seconds). The indicator lights on the touchscreen will stop blinking when pre-heating is complete.

  2. Preparing Espresso/Americano:
    • Select the desired filter (1-cup or 2-cup) and place it into the portafilter.
    • Add ground coffee to the filter. Use the included tamper to press the coffee evenly.
    • Attach the portafilter to the machine by aligning it and turning it firmly to the right until locked.
    • Place your cup(s) on the drip tray beneath the portafilter. The drip tray is detachable to accommodate taller cups.
    • Select "Espresso" for a single shot or "Espresso x 2" for a double shot on the touchscreen. For Americano, select "Americano".
    • The machine will automatically brew and stop.

  3. Making Iced Coffee ("Espresso Cool"):
    • Add ice cubes or iced water directly into the water tank.
    • Touch the "Espresso Cool" button on the touchscreen. The machine will brew without heating the water.
    • Tip: To avoid waiting for the machine to cool down, brew iced coffee before hot coffee or frothing milk.

  4. Milk Frothing:
    • Ensure the machine is preheated.
    • Fill a milk frothing pitcher with cold milk.
    • Press the "Steam" button on the touchscreen. The light will blink while heating and become solid when ready.
    • Turn the Steam/Hot Water knob to the "ON" position to release any residual water from the steam wand. Turn it off.
    • Immerse the steam wand into the milk and turn the Steam/Hot Water knob to "ON" again.
    • Adjust the steam wand position to create desired microfoam. Turn the knob to "OFF" when done.

Maintenance

  1. Cleaning the Drip Tray:

    The drip tray is removable for easy cleaning. Simply slide it out, empty any accumulated liquid, and wash with warm soapy water. It is recommended to clean the drip tray regularly.

  2. Cleaning the Water Tank:

    The 40.58 oz (1.2 Liters) transparent water tank is fully removable for easy filling and cleaning. Wash it with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

  3. Cleaning the Steam Wand:

    After each use, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. The steam nozzle is detachable for deeper cleaning.

  4. Descaling:

    Regular descaling is recommended to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan. Refer to the "DESCALE" indicator on the touchscreen and consult the full instruction manual for detailed descaling procedures.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No water coming out: Ensure the water tank is filled and correctly positioned. Perform an initial system flush if it's the first use or if the machine hasn't been used for a long time.
  • No steam coming out: Ensure the machine is preheated and the steam function is selected. Check if the steam wand is blocked.
  • Coffee not brewing: Verify the portafilter is securely locked in place and the water tank is filled.
  • Water leftover in tank: It is normal for some water to remain in the tank after use, as the machine is inspected and tested before shipment.
