3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation and Charging
The PULITUO 20V Cordless Drill/Driver comes with two 1.5Ah Li-ion batteries. Ensure batteries are fully charged before first use.
- To install the battery, align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove the battery, press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out.
- To charge the battery, connect the charger plug to the battery.
- Plug the charger into a standard power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.

3.2. Bit Installation (Keyless Chuck)
The drill features a 3/8" keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes.
- Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws are wide enough to insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit.
- Insert the bit into the chuck as far as it will go.
- Rotate the chuck clockwise firmly to tighten the jaws around the bit. Ensure the bit is centered and securely held to prevent slippage during operation.

Figure 3.2: Visual guide for operating the 3/8" keyless chuck, demonstrating how to open, insert a bit, and tighten the chuck for secure bit retention.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Variable Speed Settings
The drill offers two speed settings (0-400 RPM and 0-1500 RPM) for optimal performance across different applications. Use the speed selector switch located on top of the drill to choose between low speed (for screwdriving and high torque applications) and high speed (for drilling and faster operations).
- Low Speed (0-400 RPM): Ideal for driving screws, working with soft materials, or when higher torque is required.
- High Speed (0-1500 RPM): Suitable for drilling into wood, metal, and other materials where faster rotation is beneficial.

Figure 4.1: Demonstrates the two speed options: 0-1500 RPM recommended for drilling and 0-400 RPM recommended for screwdrivers, suitable for various tasks.
4.2. Torque Adjustment (21+1 Settings)
The 21+1 position torque adjustment clutch allows you to select the appropriate torque setting for your task, preventing over-tightening of screws and protecting the workpiece. The "drill" symbol setting bypasses the clutch for maximum torque when drilling.
- Rotate the torque adjustment ring to select a setting from 1 to 21. Lower numbers are for smaller screws and softer materials, while higher numbers are for larger screws and harder materials.
- Select the drill icon for drilling applications that require full power without clutch engagement.

Figure 4.2: Explains the 21+1 torque adjustment, showing its use for screw driving, drilling wood, and drilling metal, ensuring precise control and preventing damage.
4.3. Forward/Reverse Switch
The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger and allows you to change the direction of rotation. It also serves as a lock-off button.
- Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (for driving screws and drilling).
- Push the switch to the right for reverse rotation (for removing screws).
- Center the switch to lock the trigger, preventing accidental startup.

Figure 4.3: Illustrates the three positions of the directional switch: Forward for driving, Center Lock for safety, and Reverse for unscrewing.
4.4. LED Work Light
An integrated LED light illuminates the workpiece when the trigger is pressed, providing improved visibility in dimly lit areas or tight spaces.

Figure 4.4: Shows the built-in LED light providing superior visibility for precise work in dark or confined areas.
4.5. Applications
The drill is suitable for a variety of applications, including drilling into wood, metal, and plastic, as well as driving and removing screws. The flexible shaft allows access to difficult-to-reach areas.

Figure 4.5: Examples of the drill's versatility, demonstrating its use for drilling wood, drilling metal, screw driving, and drilling in corners with the flexible shaft.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drill. Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings of the drill clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping of bits.
- Battery Care:
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
- Protect batteries from physical impact and moisture.
- Bit Storage: Store drill bits and screwdriver bits in their designated case to prevent damage and loss.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your drill, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drill does not start | Battery not charged or improperly installed; Forward/Reverse switch in center (locked) position. | Ensure battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Move the Forward/Reverse switch out of the center position. |
| Bit slips in chuck | Chuck not tightened sufficiently; Bit shank is dirty or damaged. | Retighten the chuck firmly. Clean or replace the bit if necessary. |
| Reduced power or speed | Low battery charge; Incorrect speed setting for the task. | Recharge the battery. Select a higher speed setting if needed. |
| Overheating | Continuous heavy use; Blocked ventilation. | Allow the drill to cool down. Clear any obstructions from the ventilation slots. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact PULITUO customer support for further assistance.
