3.2. Bit Installation (Keyless Chuck)

The drill features a 3/8" keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes.

  1. Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws are wide enough to insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit.
  2. Insert the bit into the chuck as far as it will go.
  3. Rotate the chuck clockwise firmly to tighten the jaws around the bit. Ensure the bit is centered and securely held to prevent slippage during operation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Variable Speed Settings

The drill offers two speed settings (0-400 RPM and 0-1500 RPM) for optimal performance across different applications. Use the speed selector switch located on top of the drill to choose between low speed (for screwdriving and high torque applications) and high speed (for drilling and faster operations).

  • Low Speed (0-400 RPM): Ideal for driving screws, working with soft materials, or when higher torque is required.
  • High Speed (0-1500 RPM): Suitable for drilling into wood, metal, and other materials where faster rotation is beneficial.

Figure 4.1: Demonstrates the two speed options: 0-1500 RPM recommended for drilling and 0-400 RPM recommended for screwdrivers, suitable for various tasks.

4.2. Torque Adjustment (21+1 Settings)

The 21+1 position torque adjustment clutch allows you to select the appropriate torque setting for your task, preventing over-tightening of screws and protecting the workpiece. The "drill" symbol setting bypasses the clutch for maximum torque when drilling.

  • Rotate the torque adjustment ring to select a setting from 1 to 21. Lower numbers are for smaller screws and softer materials, while higher numbers are for larger screws and harder materials.
  • Select the drill icon for drilling applications that require full power without clutch engagement.

4.3. Forward/Reverse Switch

The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger and allows you to change the direction of rotation. It also serves as a lock-off button.

  • Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (for driving screws and drilling).
  • Push the switch to the right for reverse rotation (for removing screws).
  • Center the switch to lock the trigger, preventing accidental startup.

4.4. LED Work Light

An integrated LED light illuminates the workpiece when the trigger is pressed, providing improved visibility in dimly lit areas or tight spaces.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drill. Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings of the drill clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping of bits.
  • Battery Care:
    • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
    • Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
    • Protect batteries from physical impact and moisture.
  • Bit Storage: Store drill bits and screwdriver bits in their designated case to prevent damage and loss.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your drill, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
