2. Important Safety Instructions

4. Initial Setup

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Control Panel Overview

5.2 Preparing Coffee

Your GRUNDIG KSM 6430 supports three methods for coffee preparation: ground coffee, coffee capsules, and coffee pads.

For Ground Coffee:

  1. Insert the appropriate filter basket (single or double shot) into the portafilter.
  2. Add finely ground coffee to the filter basket. Use the measuring spoon to ensure correct dosage and gently tamp the coffee.
  3. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and turning it to the right until secure.
  4. Place your cup(s) under the coffee spouts. The machine features a dual nozzle for two cups.
  5. Select 'Espresso' or 'Double' on the touch display. The machine will automatically brew your coffee.

For Coffee Capsules/Pads:

  1. Insert the specific filter basket for capsules or pads into the portafilter.
  2. Place one coffee capsule or pad into the filter basket.
  3. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head.
  4. Place your cup under the coffee spout.
  5. Select 'Espresso' or 'Double' as desired.

5.3 Preparing Milk-Based Beverages (Latte, Cappuccino)

The integrated milk frother allows for convenient preparation of milk-based drinks.

  1. Fill the milk container with cold milk up to the desired level (MIN/MAX indicators).
  2. Ensure the milk container is securely attached to the machine.
  3. Prepare your espresso shot as described above, but do not brew yet.

Adjusting Milk Foam Density:

You can adjust the milk foam density by turning the knob on the milk container. Rotate it to achieve your preferred level of foam, from warm milk to dense froth.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray daily. It can be removed by pulling it forward. Wash with warm soapy water.
  • Portafilter: After each use, remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds/capsule/pad. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
  • Milk Container: After preparing milk-based drinks, detach the milk container and rinse all parts that came into contact with milk. The milk container can be stored in the refrigerator.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

6.2 Descaling
