Introduction

The SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds are designed to provide a true gaming audio experience in a compact, portable form factor. Featuring Quick-Switch Dual Wireless technology, you can seamlessly transition between high-speed 2.4GHz wireless for gaming on PlayStation, PC, handheld devices, Steam Deck, Switch, and VR, and Bluetooth 5.3 for mobile use. Immerse yourself with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and 3600 Spatial Sound, enhanced by custom Neodymium Magnetic Drivers. The companion app offers over 100 finely tuned audio presets for popular games. With up to 10 hours of battery life on the earbuds and an additional 3 charges from the Qi Charging Case, you get up to 40 hours of total use. The IP55 water resistance ensures durability for on-the-go use.

Setup Guide

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure your Arctis GameBuds and charging case are fully charged. Place the earbuds into the charging case. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the case and a power source, or place the case on a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad. The case provides up to 3 additional charges, extending total battery life to 40 hours.

2. Selecting the Correct Ear Tips for Optimal Fit

A proper seal is crucial for optimal sound quality and Active Noise Cancelling performance. Experiment with the included Small, Medium, and Large silicone ear tips to find the size that provides the most comfortable and secure fit for your ears.

3. Connecting to Devices

The Arctis GameBuds offer two primary connection methods:

• 2.4GHz Wireless (Low Latency Gaming):

  For the best gaming experience with minimal latency, use the included USB-C wireless dongle. Plug the dongle into a compatible USB-C port on your PlayStation, PC, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, or other supported gaming device. The earbuds will automatically connect to the dongle when removed from the case.

• Bluetooth 5.3 (Mobile & General Use):

  For connecting to mobile phones, tablets, or other Bluetooth-enabled devices, ensure the earbuds are in pairing mode (refer to the operating section for details). Select "Arctis GameBuds" from your device's Bluetooth settings. The Bluetooth 5.3 connection offers wider range and improved battery efficiency for everyday listening.

Quick-Switch Dual Wireless: The GameBuds allow you to quickly switch between the 2.4GHz dongle connection and Bluetooth. This feature is managed via the SteelSeries Companion App, providing seamless transitions between your gaming and mobile audio.

Operating Your GameBuds

1. Touch Controls and Button Mapping

The Arctis GameBuds feature intuitive touch controls on each earbud. These controls can be customized via the SteelSeries Companion App. Default functions include:

• Single Press: Mute/Unmute Microphone (Left), Answer Incoming Call (Right)
• Double Press: Play/Pause (Left), End Call (Right)
• Triple Press: Toggle Audio Mode (Left)
• Short Hold: Mute/Unmute Mic (Left or Right)
• Single Press then Press Hold: Volume Down (Left), Volume Up (Right)
• 3-Second Hold in Case: Enter Pairing Mode

2. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) & Transparency Mode

The GameBuds feature 4-mic hybrid ANC for immersive audio by reducing ambient noise. You can also activate Transparency Mode to hear your surroundings without removing the earbuds. These modes can be toggled and adjusted (Low, Medium, High) through the SteelSeries Companion App.

3. SteelSeries Companion App

Enhance your audio experience by downloading the SteelSeries Companion App (available for iOS and Android). The app allows you to:

• Access over 100 finely tuned game audio presets for popular titles.
• Customize EQ settings to your preference.
• Adjust ANC and Transparency mode levels.
• Control microphone volume and sidetone.
• Manage device volume and set volume limits.
• Monitor battery life for each earbud and the charging case.
• Update firmware for optimal performance.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Regularly wipe the earbuds and charging case with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For ear tips, remove them and clean with mild soap and water, ensuring they are completely dry before reattaching. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Storage: When not in use, store the earbuds in their charging case to protect them from dust and damage.
• Charging: Always use the provided USB-C cable or a certified Qi wireless charger. Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures.
• Water Resistance: The earbuds are IP55 water resistant, meaning they are protected against dust and low-pressure water jets. They are not designed for submersion in water. Avoid exposing them to saltwater or other liquids that may cause corrosion.
• Firmware Updates: Periodically check for and install firmware updates via the SteelSeries Companion App to ensure your GameBuds have the latest features and performance improvements.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Arctis GameBuds, try the following solutions:

• No Audio/Connectivity Issues:
  • Ensure earbuds are charged and properly seated in the case.
  • Verify the 2.4GHz dongle is securely plugged into your device and selected as the audio output.
  • For Bluetooth, ensure the earbuds are paired and selected in your device's Bluetooth settings. Try unpairing and re-pairing.
  • Toggle between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes in the Companion App to ensure the correct mode is active.
• Low Volume:
  • Increase volume using the earbud touch controls (Single Press then Press Hold on Right earbud) and your device's volume controls.
  • Check the volume limiter setting in the SteelSeries Companion App and adjust if necessary.
• ANC/Transparency Mode Issues:
  • Ensure ear tips provide a proper seal.
  • Toggle ANC/Transparency modes on/off in the Companion App.
  • Adjust the strength of ANC/Transparency in the app.
• Microphone Issues:
  • Ensure the microphone is not muted (Single Press on Left earbud).
  • Check microphone volume settings in the Companion App and your device's audio settings.
• Restoring Factory Defaults:

  If issues persist, you can restore the earbuds to factory default settings via the SteelSeries Companion App. Refer to the app's settings menu for this option.
