5. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your battery. Always ensure all connections are secure and correctly polarized.
5.1 Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove the battery from its packaging.
- Inspect the battery for any visible damage during shipping. If damage is found, contact your supplier immediately.
- Verify that all accessories, such as M8 terminal screws, are included.
5.2 Connection (Series and Parallel)
The PowMr LiFePO4 battery supports flexible configurations to meet various voltage and capacity requirements:
- Parallel Connection: Up to 4 batteries can be connected in parallel to increase total capacity while maintaining the nominal 12.8V. Ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge before connecting in parallel.
- Series Connection: Up to 4 batteries can be connected in series to increase the total voltage (e.g., 25.6V, 38.4V, 51.2V). When connecting in series, it is critical that all batteries have the same capacity and are at a similar state of charge.
- Combined Series-Parallel: A maximum configuration of 4P4S (4 in parallel, 4 sets in series) is supported, allowing for a system up to 51.2V 800Ah (40.96 kWh).
Important: Always use appropriate gauge cables and ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent voltage drop and overheating. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about complex wiring configurations.
5.3 Mounting
Mount the battery in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area. Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy enough to support the battery's weight. Avoid locations exposed to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or moisture.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Charging the Battery
The PowMr LiFePO4 battery can be charged quickly and efficiently:
- Charger Compatibility: Use a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger with a voltage output compatible with 12.8V LiFePO4 batteries.
- Charging Current: The battery supports a maximum continuous charge current of 200 A. For optimal battery lifespan, a recommended charge current of 0.5C (100 A) is advised.

- Keep Clean and Dry: Ensure the battery surface is clean and free from dust and moisture.
- Temperature Control: Operate and store the battery within its recommended temperature range. Avoid extreme heat or cold.
- Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50-70% State of Charge (SOC) and stored in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 3-6 months to prevent self-discharge.
- Avoid Deep Discharge: While the BMS protects against over-discharge, consistently avoiding full discharge cycles can further extend the battery's life.
8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your PowMr LiFePO4 battery. The integrated BMS is designed to prevent most critical failures by activating protection modes.
8.1 Battery Not Charging
- Check Connections: Ensure all charging cables are securely connected to the battery terminals and the charger.
- Charger Functionality: Verify that your charger is working correctly and is compatible with LiFePO4 batteries.
- BMS Protection: The BMS may have activated over-discharge protection if the battery voltage is too low. Try using a charger with a 'wake-up' function or a lower current to initiate charging.
- Temperature: If the ambient temperature is below 0°C (32°F), the BMS will prevent charging. Move the battery to a warmer environment.
8.2 Battery Not Discharging / No Power Output
- Check Connections: Ensure all load connections are secure and correctly polarized.
- Battery Voltage: Check the battery voltage. If it's too low, the BMS may have activated low-voltage cut-off protection. Recharge the battery.
- Overcurrent Protection: If the load draws too much current, the BMS will activate overcurrent protection. Reduce the load or check for short circuits in your system.
- Over-temperature Protection: If the battery temperature is too high, the BMS will cut off discharge. Allow the battery to cool down in a well-ventilated area.
8.3 Reduced Capacity or Runtime
- Charging Habits: Ensure the battery is being fully charged regularly.
- Load Demands: Verify that the total power draw of your devices does not exceed the battery's continuous discharge rating.
- Age and Cycles: While designed for 6000+ cycles, all batteries will eventually experience a gradual reduction in capacity over time and extensive use.
