5.1 Refueling:

When the flame becomes weak or the lighter fails to ignite, it is time to refuel. Follow the fueling instructions in Section 3.1. The frequency of refueling depends on usage.

If the flint wheel spins but no spark is produced, the flint needs replacement. To replace the flint:

  1. Remove the inner unit.
  2. Unscrew the flint spring at the bottom of the inner unit.
  3. Remove the old flint and insert a new Zippo flint.
  4. Replace the flint spring and tighten it securely.

If the wick is black or frayed, it may need trimming or replacement. To replace the wick:

  1. Remove the inner unit and all packing material.
  2. Pull the old wick out with pliers.
  3. Thread a new Zippo wick through the chimney hole from the inside out.
  4. Weave the wick through the packing material, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
  5. Trim the wick even with the top of the chimney.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Lighter not igniting: Check fuel level and refill if necessary. Inspect the flint; replace if worn or missing. Ensure the wick is properly trimmed and positioned.
  • Weak or inconsistent flame: This often indicates low fuel or a worn wick. Refuel the lighter or trim/replace the wick.
  • Lid not closing properly: Check for any debris or damage to the hinge.
