  1. Flip the POWER switch located at the back of the laminator to the 'ON' position. The POWER indicator light on the control panel will illuminate.
  2. Select the desired laminating pouch thickness (e.g., 3MIL, 5MIL, 7MIL, 10MIL) by pressing the corresponding button.
  3. The laminator will begin to warm up. The READY indicator light will flash during warm-up and turn solid green once the machine has reached the optimal temperature for the selected thickness. Warm-up time is approximately 60-90 seconds for 3 mil pouches.

Figure 5.1: Examples of documents and items suitable for lamination with the Qfun STL321S, such as menus, certificates, and infographics.

  1. Place your document or item centrally into a laminating pouch, leaving a small margin around the edges. Ensure the pouch is clean and free of dust.
  2. Once the READY light is solid green, carefully insert the sealed edge of the laminating pouch into the feed slot. Ensure the pouch is inserted straight and centered.
  3. The laminator will automatically feed the pouch through. Do not pull or push the pouch during the lamination process.
  4. Once the laminated document exits the machine, place it on the cool-down tray or a flat surface to cool and harden. Avoid touching the hot laminated item immediately.

5.3 Jam-Free Operation (REV Button)

The Qfun STL321S features a reversible motor to help clear misfed or jammed documents.

  • If a laminating pouch becomes jammed or misfed, immediately press and hold the REV button.
  • The rollers will reverse, allowing you to gently pull the pouch out of the feed slot.
  • Once the pouch is removed, inspect it for damage. If reusable, re-insert it correctly.

5.4 Automatic Shut-off

For safety and energy conservation, the laminator is equipped with an intelligent 30-minute automatic shutdown function. If the machine is idle for 30 minutes, it will automatically power off.

  • To prevent glue residue buildup and ensure optimal performance, use the provided cleaning sheet periodically.
  • With the laminator warmed up, feed the cleaning sheet through the machine as you would a regular laminating pouch.
  • Repeat this process if necessary until the rollers are clean.

6.2 Storage

When not in use, ensure the laminator is unplugged and completely cooled down. Store it in a dry, dust-free environment.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Laminator does not turn on.No power supply.Check if the power cord is securely plugged in and the power switch is ON. Test the outlet with another device.

Paper jam.Pouch inserted incorrectly, too thick, or foreign object.Press and hold the REV button to reverse the rollers and gently pull out the pouch. Ensure pouches are inserted straight and are within the machine's thickness limits.
Bubbles or wrinkles in laminated document.Incorrect temperature, old pouches, or uneven insertion.Ensure the correct mil thickness is selected and the READY light is solid green. Use fresh, high-quality laminating pouches. Insert pouches straight and centered.
Laminated document is cloudy or foggy.Temperature too low or rollers are dirty.Ensure the correct mil thickness is selected and the READY light is solid green. Clean the rollers with the cleaning sheet.
