Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation
- Turning On/Off: Use the tail switch. A light press provides momentary-on, while a full press provides constant-on.
- Brightness Levels: While the flashlight is on, short press the mode button to cycle through brightness levels (Low, Mid, High, Turbo).
- Mode Memory: The flashlight features an intelligent mode memory function, automatically accessing the previously memorized brightness level or STROBE Mode (SOS and BEACON excluded) when reactivated.
2. Special Modes
- STROBE Mode: This mode uses randomly changing frequencies for stronger dizzying effects. Refer to the product specifications for activation.
- SOS Mode: For emergency signaling.
- BEACON Mode: For location signaling.
3. Power Indication
- A power indicator beneath the mode button flashes to show the remaining battery power.
- The flashlight vibrates every 10 seconds when the battery falls below 10%, reminding users to recharge timely.
4. Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR)
The MH40 PRO incorporates an Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module. This module adjusts the output performance according to the internal temperature of the flashlight, ensuring optimal performance and preventing overheating.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Regularly clean the threads and O-rings with a clean cloth.
- Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the O-rings periodically to maintain waterproof integrity.
- Clean the lens with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid abrasive materials.
2. Storage
- When storing the flashlight for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
3. Water and Dust Resistance
The MH40 PRO is IP68 rated, meaning it is waterproof and dustproof. It can be submerged in water up to 2 meters.
- Ensure all caps and covers are securely tightened before exposing the flashlight to water or dusty environments.
- After exposure to saltwater, rinse the flashlight with fresh water and wipe it dry.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Nitecore MH40 PRO, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Flashlight does not turn on. | Low battery, improperly installed battery, loose tail cap. | Charge the battery. Ensure the battery is inserted correctly with positive (+) terminal towards the head. Tighten the tail cap securely. |
| Light output is dim or flickers. | Low battery, dirty contacts, loose components. | Recharge the battery. Clean battery contacts and flashlight terminals. Ensure all parts are securely tightened. |
| Flashlight gets hot quickly. | Operating in Turbo mode for extended periods, high ambient temperature. | The ATR module will automatically reduce output to prevent overheating. Switch to a lower brightness level if necessary. Ensure proper ventilation. |
| Remote switch not responding. | Battery in remote switch low (if applicable), out of range, interference. | Check remote switch battery. Ensure remote switch is within effective range of the flashlight. Try moving away from sources of interference. |
If the problem persists after trying these steps, please contact Nitecore customer support.
