Setup
1. Charging the Transmitter
Before first use, fully charge the transmitter. The unit uses a nonstandard battery (included). Connect the charging cable to the charging port on the transmitter and plug it into a power source. The LED indicator will show charging status.
2. Pairing with a Receiver
As this is a replacement transmitter, it needs to be paired with your existing Dogtra 280X receiver. Refer to your 280X receiver's manual for specific pairing instructions. Generally, this involves placing both units in pairing mode simultaneously. A receiver can only be paired to one transmitter at a time. If you need multiple transmitters synced to the same receiver, please contact Dogtra customer service.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean your transmitter, especially after exposure to dirt or water. If exposed to saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water immediately. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the unit. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
2. Battery Care and Storage
To prolong battery life, avoid extreme temperatures. Store the transmitter in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed to maintain waterproofing.
3. Removable Contact Points (Receiver)
The 280X receiver features removable contact points. These can be removed for non-stimulation training or replaced if necessary. Always ensure they are securely attached when using stimulation functions.

Troubleshooting
- Transmitter Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is charged. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
- No Response from Receiver: Verify the transmitter and receiver are properly paired. Check that both units are charged and powered on. Ensure the receiver's contact points are making proper contact with the dog's skin.
- Inconsistent Stimulation: Check the fit of the receiver collar. Loose contact points can lead to inconsistent stimulation. Ensure the dog's fur is not interfering with contact.
- Reduced Range: Environmental factors (e.g., terrain, buildings) can affect range. Ensure the antenna on the transmitter is not obstructed or damaged.
