6. Setup and Operation

6.1. Charging the Device

6.2. Transmitter Mode (TX)

In TX mode, the SafeFly Dot transmits audio from non-Bluetooth devices to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

  1. Switch to TX Mode: Slide the TX/OFF/RX switch to the 'TX' position. The TX LED will flash red and blue, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. Connect to Audio Source: Plug the 3.5mm audio cable of the SafeFly Dot into the audio output jack of your non-Bluetooth device (e.g., airplane entertainment system, TV, computer, gym equipment). If needed, use the dual 3.5mm male to female adapter for airplane seats.

  4. Pair with Bluetooth Headphones/Speakers: Set your Bluetooth headphones or speakers to pairing mode. Place them close to the SafeFly Dot. The SafeFly Dot will automatically search and connect. Once connected, the TX LED will turn solid blue, and either the 'A' or 'B' indicator will light up.

  6. Dual Connection (TX Mode): To connect a second pair of Bluetooth headphones/speakers, ensure the first device is connected. Then, put the second device into pairing mode and press the 'P/R' button on the SafeFly Dot for 2 seconds. The TX LED will flash red and blue again. Once connected, both 'A' and 'B' indicators will be solid blue.

6.3. Receiver Mode (RX)

In RX mode, the SafeFly Dot receives audio from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet and plays it through wired headphones or speakers.

  1. Switch to RX Mode: Slide the TX/OFF/RX switch to the 'RX' position. The RX LED will flash red and blue, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. Connect to Audio Output Device: Plug the 3.5mm audio cable of the SafeFly Dot into the audio input jack of your wired headphones, car stereo, or home stereo system.

6.4. Volume Control

Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the SafeFly Dot to adjust the audio volume. Press '+' to increase volume and '-' to decrease volume.

6.5. Built-in Microphone (RX Mode Only)

When in RX mode and connected to your smartphone, the built-in microphone allows for hands-free calling. Press the 'M' button to answer or end a call. Note that the microphone function is not available in TX mode.
