4. Setup Instructions

The Yoidesu Video Signal Amplifier is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. Follow these steps for proper setup:

  1. Prepare Cables: Ensure you have appropriate BNC cables for your video source and display, and a compatible DC12V 1A power adapter.
  2. Connect Video Input: Connect the BNC cable from your video source (e.g., camera, DVR output) to the 'in' BNC port on the amplifier.
  3. Connect Video Output: Connect another BNC cable from the 'out' BNC port on the amplifier to your video display or recording device (e.g., monitor, DVR input).
  4. Connect Power: Insert the DC12V 1A power adapter into the DC12V input port on the amplifier. Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  5. Initial Power On: The amplifier will power on automatically once connected to power.
  6. DIP Switch Configuration (Optional): If your setup requires specific signal adjustments, refer to the DIP switch settings. The switches are typically used for impedance matching or signal type selection. Consult your video source/display documentation for optimal settings. By default, the amplifier should work with common AHD/CVI/TVI signals.

Note: A power supply is not included with the amplifier and must be purchased separately.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the amplifier is set up, operation is straightforward:

  1. Verify Connections: Ensure all BNC cables and the power adapter are securely connected.
  2. Power On Devices: Turn on your video source and display device.
  3. Monitor Video Feed: Check your display for the video signal. The amplifier should automatically boost the signal for extended transmission.
  4. Adjust Video Quality (VIDEO ADJ): If the video quality appears degraded or too strong, gently turn the VIDEO ADJ knob (refer to Figure 2.2) to fine-tune the signal. Turn clockwise to increase signal strength/clarity, and counter-clockwise to decrease. Adjust until optimal image quality is achieved on your display.

The amplifier operates continuously when powered, providing a stable and lossless high-definition image over long distances.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Yoidesu Video Signal Amplifier, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Environment: Operate the amplifier within the specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high moisture.
  • Connections: Periodically check all cable connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the device has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating, although its aluminum casing aids in heat dissipation.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your video signal amplifier, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No video signal on display
  • No power to amplifier
  • Loose or incorrect cable connections
  • Incorrect input/output ports used
  • Video source or display device is off
  • Ensure DC12V power adapter is connected and functional.
  • Check all BNC cable connections for tightness and correct port usage ('in' to source, 'out' to display).
  • Verify video source and display are powered on and functioning.
Poor video quality (blurry, distorted, noisy)
  • Incorrect VIDEO ADJ setting
  • Damaged BNC cables
  • Signal interference
  • DIP switches incorrectly set
  • Adjust the VIDEO ADJ knob slowly until image quality improves.
  • Replace BNC cables if suspected to be faulty.
  • Ensure cables are routed away from strong electrical interference sources.
  • Review DIP switch settings according to your signal type and system requirements.
Intermittent signal loss
  • Loose connections
  • Faulty power supply
  • Cable damage
  • Check and secure all BNC and power connections.
  • Test with a different DC12V 1A power adapter if available.
  • Inspect BNC cables for damage; replace if necessary.
