6. Operating Features
6.1. D-Rings
The integrated D-ring mounts are designed for recovery operations. Always use the provided 3/4 inch 9 lb D-rings or equivalent rated shackles. Ensure D-rings are properly secured before any recovery attempt. Never exceed the rated capacity of the D-rings or the bumper.
6.2. Winch Plate
The winch plate is designed to accommodate most standard winches up to 12,000 lbs. Follow the winch manufacturer's instructions for proper installation and operation. Ensure the winch is securely bolted to the plate and all electrical connections are properly made and protected.
6.3. LED Spotlights
The 25W LED spotlights provide additional illumination for off-road driving. Operate them according to local laws and regulations. Avoid using them on public roads if they are not compliant with street-legal lighting requirements.
6.4. Foldable License Plate Holder
The license plate holder can be folded up to allow access to the winch fairlead or for aesthetic purposes when off-road. Ensure it is securely fastened in the down position when driving on public roads to comply with vehicle registration laws.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and performance of your Hooke Road Front Bumper.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the bumper, mounting hardware, and D-rings for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose fasteners.
- Tighten Fasteners: Re-tighten all bolts and nuts as necessary, especially after off-road use.
- Cleaning: Clean the bumper regularly with mild soap and water to remove dirt, mud, and road grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder coat finish.
- Coating Care: The textured black powder coat and E-coat finish provide excellent corrosion resistance. If the coating is scratched or damaged, touch it up promptly to prevent rust.
- Electrical Connections: Check LED light wiring for any signs of wear, fraying, or loose connections. Ensure all connections are waterproof.

8. Troubleshooting
8.1. Bumper Does Not Fit Correctly
- Check Compatibility: Ensure your vehicle's make, model, and year match the product's compatibility (Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT 2018-2024).
- Loose Hardware: Ensure all mounting bolts are loose enough to allow for adjustment during initial fitment.
- Obstructions: Check for any factory components or aftermarket accessories that might be interfering with the bumper's fit.
8.2. LED Spotlights Not Working
- Check Connections: Verify all electrical connections are secure and properly seated.
- Power Source: Ensure the power source (e.g., fuse, switch) is functioning correctly.
- Ground Connection: Confirm that the ground wire is properly connected to a clean, unpainted metal surface on the vehicle chassis.
- Fuse: Check if any inline fuses in the wiring harness or vehicle's fuse box have blown.
8.3. Rattling or Vibrations
- Tighten All Fasteners: Re-check and tighten all bumper mounting bolts and any accessory fasteners (e.g., grille guard, D-rings, winch).
