2. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Please adhere to the following safety guidelines to prevent injury or damage to the product.

  • Secure the Base: Always ensure the umbrella base is adequately weighted. A cross base is included, but a weighted base (e.g., water/sand filled) is sold separately and is essential for stability. Refer to the weighted base's instructions for proper filling and placement.
  • Weather Conditions: Close and secure the umbrella during strong winds, heavy rain, or severe weather conditions. Failure to do so can result in damage to the umbrella and surrounding property, or personal injury.
  • Operation: Keep hands, fingers, and clothing clear of all moving parts during opening, closing, and adjusting the umbrella.
  • Assembly: Some assembly steps may require two people due to the size and weight of components. Do not attempt to lift heavy parts alone.
  • Placement: Do not place the umbrella near open flames, heaters, or other heat sources. Ensure adequate clearance from walls, fences, and other structures.
  • Children and Pets: Supervise children and pets around the umbrella, especially during operation.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they are tight and secure.

3. Package Contents

Before beginning assembly, verify that all parts listed below are present and undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.

  • Main Pole (Upper and Lower sections)
  • Cross Base
  • Crank Handle
  • Foot Pedal (for rotation)

4. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two people for certain steps.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Lay them out on a clean, flat, and soft surface to prevent scratches.
  2. Assemble the Cross Base: Connect the cross base sections using the provided hardware. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.
  3. Attach Main Pole to Cross Base: Insert the lower section of the main pole into the center of the assembled cross base. Secure it with the appropriate bolts and washers from the hardware pack.
  4. Install Weighted Base (Sold Separately): If using a water/sand filled weighted base, place it over the cross base. Fill it according to the weighted base's specific instructions. Proper weighting is crucial for stability.
  5. Attach Umbrella Canopy Assembly: With assistance, carefully lift the umbrella canopy assembly and slide its pole onto the upper section of the main pole. Ensure it is fully seated and aligned.
  6. Secure Connections: Tighten any remaining bolts or locking mechanisms to ensure the umbrella canopy is firmly attached to the main pole.

6. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your patio umbrella.

  • Cleaning the Canopy: Wipe the polyester canopy with a damp cloth. For more stubborn dirt or stains, use a mild soap solution and water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow the canopy to air dry completely before closing or storing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Frame Care: The aluminum frame is rust-resistant. Clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Avoid scratching the powder-coated finish.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, such as during winter months or severe weather, close the umbrella, secure it with the strap, and consider using a protective umbrella cover. Store the umbrella in a dry, sheltered location to protect it from the elements.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they remain tight. Tighten any loose hardware to maintain structural integrity.
