5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Understanding the Display

The LCD screen displays readings for Electric Field (EF), Magnetic Field (MF), and Radio Frequency (RF) simultaneously. It also shows the battery indicator, data hold status, and auto power off status.

5.2 Interpreting Readings and Alarms

The meter uses a three-color indicator light system (Green, Yellow, Red) and an audible alarm to indicate radiation levels relative to safety thresholds. The thresholds are as follows:

Alarm ThresholdEF (V/m)MF (mG)RF (mW/m²)
Safe (Green Light)<40<4<5
Alert (Yellow Light)40-804-85-10
Avoid (Red Light)>80>8>10

When the radiation data exceeds the "Safe" threshold, the indicator light will change from green to yellow (Alert) or red (Avoid), and an alarm sound will activate. The alarm sound frequency increases with higher radiation levels.

6. Maintenance

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause & Solution
Meter does not power on.
  • Battery is dead or low: Replace with a new 9V battery.
  • Battery is incorrectly installed: Check polarity and reinsert the battery correctly.
  • Power button not pressed correctly: Press and hold the power button firmly.
Readings are erratic or zero.
  • No significant EMF source nearby: Move the meter closer to a known EMF source (e.g., a running appliance).
  • Interference from other electronic devices: Move away from other devices that might cause interference.
  • Sensor malfunction: If the issue persists, contact customer support.
Audible alarm is not working.
  • Buzzer is muted: Short press the Power & Buzzer On/Off button to unmute.
  • Radiation levels are below alarm thresholds: The alarm only activates when levels exceed "Alert" or "Avoid" thresholds.
Auto Power Off (APO) not working.
  • APO function is disabled: Long press the Unit / APO button to enable it.
