1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your FEIYUE FY710 Computerized Sewing Machine. 2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Accessories

Carefully remove the sewing machine from its packaging. Ensure all accessories are present. The machine includes various presser feet, bobbins, a needle set, screwdrivers, a seam ripper/cleaning brush, and an operation video USB drive.

2.2 Power Connection

Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the machine is placed on a stable, flat surface.

2.3 Bobbin Winding

Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Guide the thread through the tension disc and around the bobbin winding spindle. Place an empty bobbin onto the spindle and push it to the right. Press the Start/Stop button to begin winding. The machine will stop automatically when the bobbin is full.

2.4 Threading the Upper Thread

  1. Raise the presser foot lever.
  2. Place the thread spool on the spool pin.
  3. Guide the thread through the upper thread guide.
  4. Follow the numbered path down to the needle.
  5. Use the automatic needle threader for quick and easy threading.

2.5 Drop-in Bobbin Setup

Open the bobbin cover. Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction. Follow the guided path for the thread and close the cover. The machine is designed to start sewing without needing to pull up the bobbin thread manually.

2.6 Attaching the Extension Table

For larger projects, slide off the accessory storage box to reveal the free arm. Attach the extension table by aligning its pins with the corresponding holes on the machine and sliding it into place. This provides a larger, flat work surface.

3. Operating the Machine

3.1 LCD Touchscreen and Stitch Selection

The 7-inch LCD touchscreen displays stitch patterns, recommended presser foot type, and machine status. Use the screen to select from 180 built-in stitch patterns, including utility, decorative, graphic, and monogram stitches. The screen also allows for stitch memory, mirror imaging, and single/twin needle toggling.

3.2 Start/Stop and Speed Control

You can operate the machine using the Start/Stop button for pedal-free sewing or connect a traditional foot pedal. Adjust the sewing speed using the hardware slider or on-screen controls for precise stitching.

3.3 Reverse Stitching and Automatic Thread Cutting

Reinforce stitches by pressing the reverse stitch button. The machine also features an automatic thread cutter that trims both upper and bobbin threads at the touch of a button or at the end of programmed sequences.

3.4 Handling Various Fabric Thicknesses

The machine's extra presser foot lift and adjustable pressure allow it to handle a wide range of fabric thicknesses, from ultra-thin materials to multiple layers of denim. The drop feed function supports free-motion quilting and button sewing.

3.5 Buttonhole Function

Create perfect buttonholes with ease using the dedicated buttonhole presser foot. The machine supports one-step buttonholes, automatically sized to match your buttons.

3.6 Free Arm Sewing

Remove the accessory storage box to utilize the free arm feature. This is ideal for sewing cuffs, sleeves, pant hems, and other tubular projects.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the bobbin area and feed dogs using the provided cleaning brush. Turn off and unplug the machine before cleaning. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case to access the area. Remove any lint or thread buildup.

4.2 Needle Replacement

Replace the needle regularly, especially if it becomes bent or dull. Use the screwdriver to loosen the needle clamp screw, remove the old needle, insert a new one with the flat side facing the back, and tighten the screw securely.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Thread Breaking: Check if the machine is correctly threaded, the needle is inserted properly, the thread tension is appropriate, or if the needle is bent/dull.
  • Skipped Stitches: Ensure the correct needle type and size are used for the fabric. Check if the needle is bent or dull.
  • Uneven Stitches: Verify that the bobbin is correctly wound and inserted, and that the upper thread tension is balanced.
  • Machine Jamming: Turn off the machine immediately. Carefully remove any tangled threads from the bobbin area and under the needle plate.
  • Overheat Protection: The machine has enhanced safety features, including overheat protection. If the machine stops due to overheating, allow it to cool down for approximately 10 minutes before resuming operation.
