3.2 Initial Preparation
- Charge the Battery: Connect the provided battery pack to the battery charger and plug it into a power outlet. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
- Attach the Handle Unit: Securely attach the handle unit to the top of the camcorder. This unit provides additional controls and microphone inputs.
- Insert Memory Card: Open the memory card slot cover and insert the CFexpress Type A or SD card into the appropriate slot until it clicks into place. The HXR-NX800 supports dual card slots for extended recording or simultaneous recording.
- Attach Lens Hood and Eyecup: Mount the lens hood onto the front of the lens to reduce glare. Attach the eyecup to the viewfinder for comfortable viewing.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the camcorder, slide the POWER switch to the ON position. To power off, slide it to the OFF position. The camcorder can be powered by the battery pack or an external AC adapter.
4.2 Recording Video
Press the START/STOP button to begin and end recording. The camcorder supports various recording formats including 4K UHD and 1080p at different frame rates. Ensure your memory card has sufficient space and speed for your chosen format.
4.3 Zoom and Focus Control
The camcorder features a zoom rocker on the handle and a dedicated zoom/focus ring on the lens. Switch between AUTO and MANUAL focus modes using the AF/MF switch near the lens. The zoom function allows for 20x optical zoom and up to 30x Clear Image Zoom in 4K.

4.4 Audio Settings
The handle unit provides two XLR inputs for external microphones, allowing for professional audio recording. Adjust audio levels using the dedicated dials on the handle unit. Ensure input levels are set correctly to avoid clipping or low audio.
