Important Note: This wireless car play dongle does not support BMW, Tesla, certain specific models, and certain aftermarket stereos. It is also not recommended for 2016-2020 Nissan cars as they may require an additional USB Y splitter cable.
Checking Car Compatibility:
To confirm if your car model is suitable, connect your phone to your car using a USB data cable. If the CarPlay or Android Auto interface appears on your car screen, then your car supports the wired version and is likely compatible with this adapter.

Setup Guide
Follow these steps for the initial setup of your PWAYTEK Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter:
Step 1: Connect the Adapter to Your Car
Connect the Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto adapter to the USB-A or USB-C port in your car. Ensure that the vehicle's USB port supports wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto features.
Step 2: Pair Your Mobile Phone via Bluetooth
Turn on the Bluetooth on your mobile phone. Search for and pair with the Bluetooth device named 'smartBox-****'. Accept any pairing requests or prompts on your phone and car display to allow the connection. This will enable the CarPlay or Android Auto function.
Step 3: Enjoy Wireless Connectivity
Once paired, you are ready to enjoy wireless CarPlay or Android Auto. For automatic connection in the future, ensure your phone's Bluetooth is turned on when you start your vehicle. The adapter will automatically activate the wireless connection.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues while using your PWAYTEK Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Device Not Connecting Properly:
- Ensure both your car and mobile phone are compatible models (refer to the Compatibility section).
- Verify that the device indicator lights on the adapter are correctly illuminated.
- Delete any other previously paired devices in the "CarPlay" or "Android Auto" settings of your phone and attempt to reconnect the adapter.
- Frequent Disconnections:
Poor network conditions may cause delays or disconnections. If Wi-Fi is occupied, consider going to the firmware upgrade URL (if provided by manufacturer support) to change the channel. Alternatively, unplug the adapter, clear old pairing records from your phone, restart your phone, and then re-pair the adapter.
- No Audio Playing:
Check your Bluetooth connection when using wireless CarPlay/Android Auto. If your phone is connected to another audio device (e.g., headphones, another car system), audio output may switch. Please disconnect from other audio devices to restore playback through your car's speakers.
