3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

3.2 Charging the Instrument

Before first use, fully charge the instrument. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the instrument and to a compatible USB power adapter (not included).

A red indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged. A full charge provides up to 4 hours of playtime.

3.3 Attaching the Mouthpiece

The MAE-02 comes with a removable silicone mouthpiece. Gently slide the silicone mouthpiece onto the instrument's mouthpiece until it is securely in place.

3.4 Powering On/Off

To power on the instrument, press and hold the power button located on the back panel for a few seconds until the LCD screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the same button until the screen turns off.

4.2 Selecting Tones

The MAE-02 offers 35 different tones. Use the "TON" button on the back panel to enter tone selection mode, then use the '+' and '-' buttons to cycle through the available tones. The selected tone number will be displayed on the LCD screen.

4.3 Fingering Modes

The instrument supports three fingering modes: Hulusi, Saxophone, and Flute. Press the "FG" button on the back panel to switch between these modes. Each mode simulates the fingering style of its respective instrument.

4.4 Adjusting Volume and Reverb

Use the "VOL" button and '+' / '-' to adjust the volume (0-100 levels). Use the "REV" button and '+' / '-' to adjust the reverb effect (0-100 levels).

4.5 Octave and Transpose

The "Up Octave" and "Down Octave" buttons on the back panel allow you to shift the pitch by an octave. The "Trans" button enables transposition, allowing you to play in different keys without changing fingering.

4.6 Breath Sensitivity

The instrument features adjustable breath sensitivity (B.F. button) with three levels: Light, Standard, and Heavy. This allows you to customize the instrument's response to your breath pressure.

  • Cleaning the Mouthpiece: Regularly remove and clean the silicone mouthpiece with mild soap and water. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
