2. Safety Information

To prevent injury to users or damage to the unit, ensure all safety precautions are strictly followed. Improper operation due to disregard of instructions may cause harm or damage.

General Safety

  • Always disconnect the unit from the power supply before cleaning, maintenance, or servicing.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure clear of obstruction.
  • Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Refrigerant Safety (R290)

This appliance contains R290 (propane), a natural gas with high environmental compatibility, but which is also flammable. When transporting and installing the appliance, care should be taken to ensure that no parts of the refrigerant circuit are damaged. If damage occurs, avoid open flames or ignition sources and ventilate the room where the appliance is located thoroughly.

3. Unpacking and Installation (Setup)

Unpacking

  1. Remove all packaging materials, including the protective film from stainless steel surfaces.
  2. Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and your dealer.
  3. Retain packaging materials for future transport if needed.

Placement

  • Place the unit on a strong, level surface capable of supporting its weight when fully loaded.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Maintain a minimum of 4 inches (10 cm) clearance from walls or other obstructions on all sides to allow for proper airflow and heat dissipation.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, or areas with high humidity.
  • The unit is equipped with pre-installed casters for easy movement. Once in position, ensure the casters are locked to prevent accidental movement.

Electrical Connection

  • Before connecting, ensure the voltage and frequency specified on the unit's rating label match your power supply.
  • The unit requires a dedicated 110V/60Hz electrical outlet with a NEMA-5-15P configuration.
  • Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.
  • Ensure the unit is properly grounded to prevent electrical shock.

Initial Startup

After placement and electrical connection, allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant and oils to settle. Once plugged in, the unit will begin to cool. Allow several hours for the unit to reach its set temperature before loading products.

4. Operation

Temperature Control

The DHBC65 features electronic controls for precise temperature management. The recommended operating temperature range is 33°F to 38°F (0.5°C to 3.3°C). Refer to the control panel instructions for adjusting the temperature settings.

Loading Products

  • Load bottles evenly to ensure proper airflow and cooling.
  • Do not block the internal air vents.
  • The unit includes wire dividers to help organize bottles.

Sliding Lids

The unit is equipped with easy-glide stainless steel sliding lids. Ensure the lids are closed when not accessing products to maintain optimal temperature and energy efficiency.

Integrated Bottle Opener

The DHBC65 includes a standard bottle opener and cap catcher for user convenience. To use, simply place the bottle cap into the opener and apply downward pressure. The cap will fall into the integrated catcher.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your bottle cooler. Always disconnect power before cleaning or performing maintenance.

Exterior Cleaning

  • Wipe exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water.
  • For stainless steel surfaces, use a non-abrasive cleaner designed for stainless steel and wipe in the direction of the grain.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals.

Interior Cleaning

  • Remove all products and wire dividers.
  • Clean the interior with a solution of mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely.
  • The unit features automatic defrost, minimizing manual defrosting needs. However, if excessive ice buildup occurs, manually defrost by unplugging the unit and allowing ice to melt naturally.

Condenser Coil Cleaning

The condenser coils should be cleaned regularly (every 3-6 months, depending on environment) to maintain efficiency. Dust and debris on the coils can reduce cooling performance and increase energy consumption.

  1. Disconnect power to the unit.
  2. Locate the condenser coils (typically at the rear or bottom of the unit).
  3. Use a stiff brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the coils.
  4. Reconnect power.

Gasket Maintenance

Inspect door gaskets regularly for cracks or tears. Clean gaskets with mild soap and water to ensure a tight seal, which is crucial for energy efficiency.
