5. Operating Instructions
The surge protector uses three indicator lights to communicate its status:
- High/Low Protect (Red Light): This light illuminates when the voltage is outside the safe operating range (either too high or too low). When this light is on, power to the connected appliance is cut off to prevent damage.
- 5 Min Delay (Yellow Light): This light indicates that the device is in its 3-minute delay period. This delay occurs after power is restored following an outage or voltage event, allowing the electrical system to stabilize before reconnecting power to the appliance.
- Normal/OK (Green Light): This light indicates that the voltage is within the safe operating range and power is being supplied to the connected appliance.
Power Restoration Sequence:
- Upon initial plug-in or after a power outage, the device will enter a 3-minute delay period (Yellow Light on).
- During this delay, the surge protector monitors the voltage.
- Once the voltage stabilizes and the 3-minute delay concludes, the Yellow Light will turn off, and the Green Light will illuminate, supplying power to your appliance.
Manual Override (ON Button):
The ON button allows you to skip the 3-minute delay if you are present and confirm the voltage has returned to normal. Pressing the ON button during the delay period will immediately restore power to the appliance, provided the voltage is stable.

6. Maintenance
The BSEED Surge Protector requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the surge protector from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive chemicals.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the device for any signs of wear or damage, especially after electrical storms or power fluctuations.
- Storage: If storing the device, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your surge protector, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance not receiving power, Red Light (High/Low Protect) is on. | Input voltage is too high or too low. | The surge protector is functioning as designed. Wait for the voltage to return to normal. If the issue persists, consult an electrician. |
| Appliance not receiving power, Yellow Light (5 Min Delay) is on. | Device is in its power-on delay sequence. | Wait for the 3-minute delay to complete. The Green Light will illuminate when power is restored. You can press the ON button to manually override the delay if the voltage is stable. |
| No lights are on, appliance not receiving power. | No power from the wall outlet or device malfunction. | Check the wall outlet with another device. Ensure the surge protector is firmly plugged in. If no power, check your home's circuit breaker. If the problem persists, the unit may be faulty. |
| Green Light (Normal/OK) is on, but appliance is not working. | Appliance issue, not surge protector. | Check the appliance's power cord and its own power switch. Test the appliance by plugging it directly into a working wall outlet. |
