4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Battery
The device uses a lithium battery. Before initial use, or if the instrument has not been used for a long time, it must be charged. Charge the battery at least once a month to prevent over-discharging.
- Connect the power adapter to the charging port on the device.
- Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.
- The "Charging" indicator light on the control panel will illuminate.
- Allow the device to charge until the indicator light changes or turns off, indicating a full charge.
4.2 Connecting Probes
Proper connection of the ultrasonic probe is crucial for accurate measurements.
- Identify the appropriate probe (straight beam or angle probe) for your inspection task.
- Connect one end of the machine-probe cable to the probe.
- Connect the other end of the machine-probe cable to the corresponding port on the top of the flaw detector unit. Ensure a secure connection.

5. Operation
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, press and hold the POWER button until the display illuminates.
- To power off, press and hold the POWER button until the display shuts down.
5.2 Basic Measurement Modes
The device supports various measurement display modes:
- Positive Wave: Displays the positive half of the ultrasonic signal.
- Negative Wave: Displays the negative half of the ultrasonic signal.
- Full Wave: Displays both positive and negative halves of the signal.
- Wave: General waveform display.
Use the control panel buttons to navigate and select the desired mode.
5.3 Probe Calibration (Angle Probe Example)
Accurate calibration is essential for reliable flaw detection. This example demonstrates angle probe calibration.
- Connect the angle probe to the device.
- Place the angle probe on a known calibration block.
- Press the AUTO CAL button.
- Then press F2 to initiate calibration.
- Adjust the probe position to find the highest echo on the display.
- Press the ENTER key to calibrate the P Delay and angle.
- Observe the K value on the display for verification.
