4. Operating Modes

The Philips Solar Security Light offers three distinct lighting modes to suit various security and illumination needs. These modes are typically selected via a button on the unit.

Diagram illustrating the three lighting modes: Sensor Mode (motion-activated 100% brightness), Dim Mode (10% brightness always on), and Dim+Sensor Mode (3% brightness always on, 100% with motion).

Image 4.1: Visual representation of the three available lighting modes.

  1. Sensor Mode:
    • Light remains off when no motion is detected.
    • When motion is detected, the light illuminates at 100% brightness (1200lm) for 25 seconds.
    • After 25 seconds, if no further motion is detected, the light turns off.
  2. Dim Mode:
    • The light stays on continuously at 10% brightness (120lm) for 8-10 hours during the night.
    • This mode provides constant ambient lighting.
  3. Dim + Sensor Mode:
    • The light stays on continuously at 3% brightness (36lm) during the night.
    • When motion is detected, the light brightens to 100% brightness (1200lm) for 25 seconds.
    • After 25 seconds, if no further motion is detected, the light returns to 3% brightness.

To switch between modes, press the mode selection button located on the unit. The light will cycle through the modes with each press.
