Setup and Assembly

Assembly typically requires two people. Clear a spacious area and lay out all parts on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Refer to the included parts list to identify each piece and ensure nothing is missing.
  2. Assemble the Cabinet Frame: Connect the side panels to the bottom and back panels using the provided hardware (e.g., dowels, cam locks, screws). Ensure all connections are secure.
  3. Install Drawer Slides: Attach the cabinet-side drawer slides to the interior of the cabinet frame according to the instructions. Pay attention to orientation (left/right, top/bottom).
  4. Assemble Drawers: Construct each drawer by attaching the side, back, and front panels to the drawer bottom. Install the drawer-side slides onto the assembled drawers.
  5. Insert Drawers: Carefully align the drawer slides and insert the assembled drawers into the cabinet frame. Test for smooth operation.
  6. Attach Top Panel: Secure the top panel to the cabinet frame using the designated hardware.
  7. Install Handles and Lock: Attach the pull handles to the drawer fronts. Install the locking mechanism into the top drawer front and test with the provided keys.
  8. Install Anti-Tip Hardware: For safety, attach the anti-tip wall mounting hardware to the back of the cabinet and secure it to a wall stud. This is crucial for stability.

Operating Instructions

Drawer Operation

The drawers are equipped with full-extension, smooth, and silent slides. To open a drawer, gently pull the handle. To close, push the drawer firmly until it is fully recessed. The interlock safety mechanism ensures that only one drawer can be opened at a time, enhancing stability.

Locking Mechanism

The top drawer features a high-quality locking mechanism for securing important documents or personal belongings. Insert the key into the lock and turn it to engage or disengage the lock. Ensure the drawer is fully closed before attempting to lock it.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the cabinet, wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or polishes that may damage the engineered wood finish. Dry immediately with a clean cloth.

General Care

  • Avoid exposing the cabinet to excessive moisture or direct sunlight, which can cause warping or discoloration.
  • Periodically check all fasteners and tighten them as needed to ensure the cabinet remains stable.
  • If drawer slides become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied.

Troubleshooting

  • Drawers not sliding smoothly: Check that the drawer slides are correctly installed and aligned. Ensure no debris is obstructing the tracks. Verify all assembly screws are tight.
  • Lock not engaging/disengaging: Ensure the key is fully inserted and turned correctly. Check for any obstructions in the lock mechanism. If the drawer is not fully closed, the lock may not engage.
  • Cabinet feels unstable: Confirm that all assembly hardware is securely tightened. Ensure the anti-tip wall mounting hardware is properly installed and anchored to a wall stud.
  • Missing or damaged parts: Do not proceed with assembly. Contact DEVAISE customer support for assistance.
