The MCP Bio-1 is a handheld, non-contact infrared thermometer featuring a clear LCD display with a tri-color backlight. It offers multiple modes for measuring forehead and object temperatures, along with convenient functions like unit conversion and memory recall.

4.1. What's in the Box

4.2. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the handle of the thermometer.
  2. Gently slide or open the battery compartment cover. Note that it may require a firm push to open.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On/Off

Press the measurement button to turn on the thermometer. The device will automatically shut off after 8-10 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

5.2. Taking a Temperature

  1. Select Mode: Ensure the thermometer is in the desired measurement mode (Forehead or Object). Press the 'Mode' button to switch between modes.
  2. Position the Thermometer: For forehead temperature, hold the thermometer 1 to 2.5 inches (3-7 cm) away from the center of the forehead. For object temperature, point it at the desired object.
  3. Take Measurement: Press the measurement button. The reading will appear on the LCD screen within 2 seconds.

The thermometer maintains measurement accuracy within 0.3°C (0.54°F) in various environments.

5.3. Temperature Modes and Ranges

5.4. Temperature Unit Conversion (°C/°F)

While the device is on, press and hold the 'Mode' button for a few seconds to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) units.

5.5. Memory Recall

The thermometer can store up to 20 temperature readings. To recall past measurements, press the 'Mem' button. Each press will cycle through the stored readings.

5.6. Backlight and Fever Alert

The LCD display features a tri-color backlight that changes based on the measured temperature, providing a visual indication of fever:
