3. Setup
3.1 Powering the Camera
- Connect the provided 12 VDC Power Supply to the "DC 12V" port on the rear of the camera.
- Alternatively, connect a PoE+ enabled Ethernet cable to the "LAN/PoE+" port for power and network connectivity.
3.2 Video and Audio Connections
- For video output, connect a 12G-SDI cable to the "12G-SDI" port or an HDMI 2.0 cable to the "HDMI-1 (MAIN)" or "HDMI-2" ports.
- For USB video, connect the USB-C cable to the "USB-C" port and to your computer.
- For external audio input, connect an audio source to the "AUDIO IN" port.
3.3 Network Connection
Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch or router to the "LAN/PoE+" port on the camera. This enables NDI|HX3 streaming and IP control.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Camera Control
The camera can be controlled via the included IR remote, IP control software, or a compatible hardware controller.
Using the IR Remote Controller
- Point the IR remote towards the front of the camera.
- Use the directional buttons to pan and tilt the camera.
- Use the zoom buttons to adjust the optical zoom.

4.2 NDI|HX3 Streaming
The BirdDog X5 Ultra supports NDI|HX3 for low-latency, high-quality video transmission over IP.

- On your NDI-enabled receiving device or software, the BirdDog X5 Ultra should appear as an available NDI source.
- Select the camera as your NDI source to begin streaming.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
