3.2 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the rear of the controller.
- Remove the cover.
- Insert two 18650 lithium-ion batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). It is recommended to use flat-top 18650 batteries (65mm length) for optimal fit. Button-top batteries may be too long and cause difficulty in closing the compartment or damage.
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.
Important: Always use high-quality 18650 batteries and ensure they are fully charged before first use.
3.3 Gimbal and Stick End Adjustment
The RadioMaster Pocket features Hall effect gimbals for precise control. The stick ends are removable and can be adjusted or replaced according to user preference.
- To remove stick ends, gently unscrew them counter-clockwise.
- The removed stick ends can be stored in the designated slots on the back of the controller for safekeeping during transport.
- To reattach, screw them clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.

3.5 Initial Power On
- Press and hold the power button located on the front panel until the LCD screen illuminates.
- The controller will boot into the EdgeTX firmware. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as calibration or model selection.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 EdgeTX Firmware Navigation
The RadioMaster Pocket runs on EdgeTX firmware, providing a powerful and customizable interface.
- Use the navigation buttons (scroll wheel, menu buttons) to move through menus and adjust settings on the backlit LCD screen.
- Refer to the official EdgeTX documentation for detailed instructions on advanced features, model setup, and customization.
4.2 Binding to a Receiver
To establish communication with your drone or RC vehicle, the controller must be bound to a compatible receiver. The binding process varies depending on the receiver type (ExpressLRS or CC2500).
- Power on your receiver and place it in binding mode (refer to your receiver's manual for specific instructions).
- On the RadioMaster Pocket, navigate to the Model Setup menu in EdgeTX.
- Select the appropriate internal RF module (ExpressLRS or CC2500) and initiate the binding process.
- Confirm successful binding on both the controller and receiver.
4.3 Basic Controls
- Gimbals: Control primary flight surfaces (throttle, roll, pitch, yaw).
- Switches: Assignable switches (e.g., SA, SB, SC, SD, SE, SF, SG, SH) are used for various functions like arming, flight modes, or special actions. The built-in LED lights provide visual confirmation of switch positions.
- Trims: Digital trims allow fine-tuning of control surfaces.
- External Module Bay: For use with compatible external modules to extend functionality or range.
