4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

4.2 Connecting Batteries (Parallel and Series)

The DATOUBOSS 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery supports configurations of up to 4 batteries in parallel and 4 in series (Max. 4P4S). This allows for increased capacity and higher voltage systems.

  • Parallel Connection: Connect positive terminals to positive terminals and negative terminals to negative terminals to increase total capacity (Ah) while maintaining the same voltage (12V).
  • Series Connection: Connect the positive terminal of one battery to the negative terminal of the next to increase total voltage (V) while maintaining the same capacity (Ah).
  • Series-Parallel (4P4S): For maximum energy storage, up to 16 batteries can be configured in a 4P4S arrangement, achieving a 51.2V 1200Ah system with 61440Wh of energy.
  • Always use appropriate cables and connectors for your chosen configuration.
  • Ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge before connecting them in parallel or series.

Use a LiFePO4 compatible charger that matches the battery's voltage and current requirements. The maximum charging current for a single 300Ah battery is 100A. Ensure the charger's output voltage is appropriate for a 12V LiFePO4 battery.

5. Operation

Once installed and charged, your DATOUBOSS LiFePO4 battery is ready for operation. It offers a 100% depth of discharge, meaning you can use its full rated capacity without significantly impacting its lifespan. Monitor your system's voltage and current to ensure it operates within the battery's specifications.

6. Maintenance

DATOUBOSS LiFePO4 batteries require minimal maintenance due to their robust design and integrated BMS. Follow these guidelines for optimal performance and longevity:

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check battery terminals for corrosion and ensure connections are secure.
  • Cleaning: Keep the battery surface clean and dry.
  • Temperature Management: While the BMS provides temperature protection, avoid operating or storing the battery in extreme temperatures for extended periods. The optimal operating temperature range is generally between -20°C to 60°C for discharge and 0°C to 45°C for charge.
  • Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50% State of Charge (SoC) and stored in a cool, dry place. The battery has an excellent low self-discharge rate.

7. Troubleshooting

The integrated BMS handles most common issues by temporarily shutting down the battery. If the battery is not functioning as expected, refer to the table below. The BMS will automatically reset and resume normal operation once the fault condition is removed.
