5. Setup

5.1 Choosing a Location

Select a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours a day to ensure optimal charging of the solar panel. Avoid areas under trees, eaves, or other obstructions that might block sunlight.

5.2 Initial Activation

Before first use, ensure the light is in the "ON" position. The switch is typically located on the back or underside of the solar panel unit. Allow the light to charge in direct sunlight for a full day (8-10 hours) before its first night operation.

5.3 Installation Options

Two installation methods for the Solpex solar spotlight: ground plug installation in a garden and wall mount installation on a building exterior.

Image: This image demonstrates the two primary installation methods: using the ground stake to plant the light in soft ground, and using the wall mount to secure it to a vertical surface.

5.3.1 Ground Installation

  1. Attach the ground stake to the bottom of the spotlight unit.
  2. Gently push the assembled light into the soft ground at your desired location. Ensure the solar panel faces upwards towards the sun.

5.3.2 Wall Mount Installation

  1. Mark the desired drilling points on the wall using the wall mount bracket as a template.
  2. Drill holes at the marked points. Insert wall plugs if necessary.
  3. Secure the wall mount bracket to the wall using the provided screws.
  4. Attach the spotlight unit to the secured wall mount bracket.
  5. Adjust the angle of the solar panel and light head to optimize sun exposure and illumination direction.

6. Operating

6.1 Automatic Operation

Once activated and charged, the Solpex solar spotlights will operate automatically. They will charge during the day when exposed to sunlight and automatically turn on at dusk, providing illumination throughout the night. They will turn off at dawn or when the battery is depleted.

6.2 Switching Lighting Modes

The spotlights feature three brightness modes. Press the power button (usually located near the solar panel) repeatedly to cycle through the modes:

  • Mode 1: Low Brightness (approx. 12 hours duration)
  • Mode 2: Medium Brightness (approx. 9 hours duration)
  • Mode 3: High Brightness (approx. 6 hours duration)

The light will remember the last selected mode for the next night's operation.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures optimal charging efficiency.
  • Battery: The product uses 1 AAA battery. While designed for long life, if the light performance significantly degrades over time, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the specifications for battery type.
  • Winter Care: In areas with prolonged periods of low sunlight or heavy snow, consider bringing the lights indoors or clearing snow from the solar panels to prevent damage and ensure battery longevity.
  • Storage: If storing the lights for an extended period, ensure they are fully charged and turn them off. Store in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting
