2. Safety Information

  • Read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly.
  • Keep all hardware and small parts out of reach of children.
  • Assemble the bed on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratching.
  • Ensure all bolts and screws are securely tightened before use. Periodically check and re-tighten as necessary.
  • Do not use power tools for assembly as they may overtighten and damage components.
  • This bed is designed for sleeping purposes only. Do not stand or jump on the bed.
  • Refer to the product care instructions for cleaning and maintenance to avoid damage to the velvet upholstery.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Lexicon customer support.

Included Components:

  • Headboard (Adjustable Height)
  • Footboard
  • Side Rails (2)
  • Slats (Multiple pieces)
  • Hardware Pack (Bolts, washers, nuts, Allen wrench)

4. Setup and Assembly

Assembly typically requires two adults. Lay out all parts on a clean, soft surface to prevent damage.

Step-by-Step Assembly:

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Compare them with the parts list to ensure everything is present.
  2. Attach Headboard Supports: Secure the metal support legs to the back of the headboard using the provided bolts and washers. Ensure they are firmly attached but do not overtighten.
  3. Connect Side Rails to Headboard: Align the side rails with the headboard supports. Insert bolts through the pre-drilled holes and secure with washers and nuts. Hand-tighten initially.
  4. Connect Side Rails to Footboard: Attach the other end of the side rails to the footboard using the same method. Ensure the footboard is facing the correct direction.
  5. Install Center Support Legs (if applicable): Some models may include center support legs for the side rails. Attach these according to the diagrams in your specific hardware pack.
  6. Insert Slats: Place the wooden slats across the side rails. Ensure they are evenly spaced and fit securely into any designated slots or supports. Some slats may require screwing into the side rails for added stability.

  1. Final Tightening: Once all components are assembled, go back and securely tighten all bolts and screws using the provided Allen wrench. Do not overtighten.
  2. Adjust Headboard Height: The headboard features adjustable height settings. Loosen the bolts connecting the headboard to its supports, adjust to the desired height, and re-tighten the bolts securely.

5. Operating Instructions

The Lexicon Newberry Velvet Full Platform Bed is designed to provide a stable and comfortable sleeping surface. No box spring or foundation is required due to the integrated slat system.

Headboard Adjustment:

The headboard height can be adjusted to accommodate different mattress thicknesses or aesthetic preferences. To adjust, carefully loosen the bolts connecting the headboard to its support legs, slide the headboard to the desired position, and then firmly re-tighten all bolts. Ensure the bed is empty before making adjustments.

6. Maintenance and Care

Velvet Upholstery Care:

  • Regular Cleaning: Gently vacuum the velvet upholstery regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris.
  • Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain and damage the pile. For stubborn stains, consult a professional upholstery cleaner or use a velvet-safe cleaning product, testing on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading. Position the bed away from direct sunlight or use curtains/blinds.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals on the velvet fabric.

General Frame Care:

  • Periodically check all bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as needed to maintain stability.
  • Wipe down any exposed non-upholstered surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.

7. Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Bed feels wobbly: Ensure all bolts and screws are fully tightened. Check that the bed is on a level surface.
  • Squeaking noises: Re-tighten all hardware, especially where the side rails connect to the headboard and footboard, and where slats connect to the side rails. Ensure slats are properly seated.
  • Headboard not stable after adjustment: Verify that the adjustment bolts are securely tightened after setting the desired height.
  • Missing parts: If any parts are missing upon unboxing, do not proceed with assembly. Contact Lexicon customer support immediately for replacement parts.
