4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ machine for the first time:

  1. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes and heat sources. Ensure adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank.
  2. Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the side of the machine. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh drinking water before filling it to the MAX level. Reattach the water tank securely to the machine. The Vertuo Pop+ Deluxe features a large 37.2 fl oz water tank accessible from the side.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Initial Rinse: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle. Fill the water tank, place a large container (at least 12 oz) under the coffee outlet, and close the machine head. Press the brew button to start the rinse cycle. This cleans the internal system and prepares the machine for brewing. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
  5. Connectivity (Optional): Your machine supports connectivity features. Download the Nespresso app on your smartphone to connect your machine for firmware updates and enhanced maintenance options.
