Please read this instruction manual carefully before installing and operating your Runidur US-CS12 Photoelectric Smoke Detector. Keep this manual for future reference.

- Replace the unit after 10 years from the date of manufacture or when the end-of-life signal sounds.
- Never ignore a smoke alarm. Investigate the cause and take appropriate action immediately.

3. Setup and Installation
The Runidur US-CS12 smoke detector offers flexible installation options: screw mounting or adhesive mounting.

3.2 Mounting Options
The device comes with a mounting bracket and either screws/wall anchors or a double-sided adhesive pad for installation.
Screw Mounting:
- Remove the mounting bracket from the smoke detector by twisting it counter-clockwise.
- Mark the drill holes on the ceiling or wall using the bracket as a template.
- Drill two 5mm holes and insert the provided wall anchors.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling/wall using the screws.
- Align the smoke detector with the bracket and twist clockwise to lock it in place.

Adhesive Mounting:
- Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
- Peel off one side of the double-sided adhesive pad and firmly attach it to the back of the smoke detector's mounting plate.
- Peel off the other side of the adhesive pad.
- Press the smoke detector firmly onto the desired ceiling or wall location for at least 30 seconds.
Note: Adhesive mounting is generally recommended for smooth, non-porous surfaces. For textured or uneven surfaces, screw mounting provides a more secure installation.
3.3 Recommended Placement
- Install smoke detectors on every level of your home, including basements.
- Place a smoke detector inside every bedroom and outside each sleeping area.
- For optimal detection, install smoke detectors in the center of the ceiling. If this is not possible, place them at least 10 cm (4 inches) from any wall or corner.
- Avoid placing detectors near windows, doors, or air vents where drafts could interfere with smoke detection.
- Do not install in kitchens, bathrooms, or garages where cooking fumes, steam, or exhaust can cause nuisance alarms.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Normal Operation
Once installed and activated, the smoke detector will monitor the air for smoke. A small red LED indicator will flash approximately every 60 seconds to confirm it is functioning correctly.
4.2 Testing the Alarm
Press and hold the large "TEST/HUSH" button on the front of the alarm for a few seconds. The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating tone, and the red LED will flash rapidly. Release the button to stop the test. Test your alarm monthly.
4.3 Silencing Nuisance Alarms (Hush Feature)
If a non-emergency situation (e.g., cooking fumes) triggers the alarm, press the "TEST/HUSH" button. This will temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 10 minutes. The red LED will flash every 10 seconds during the hush period. If smoke is still present after 10 minutes, the alarm will reactivate. If the smoke clears, the alarm will reset to normal operation.
5. Maintenance
- Monthly Testing: Press the Test/Hush button monthly to ensure the alarm is working.
- Cleaning: Gently vacuum the smoke detector's cover and vents with a soft brush attachment at least once a year to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or cleaning solvents.
- Battery: The 10-year sealed lithium battery is designed to last the lifetime of the alarm. It is not replaceable.
- End-of-Life Signal: After approximately 10 years, the alarm will emit a short beep every 60 seconds, indicating it's time to replace the unit.
6. Troubleshooting
