Maintenance
Battery Charging
The camera features a rechargeable battery. Battery life varies based on usage, video quality settings, and environmental factors. To recharge, simply detach the camera from its mount and connect the provided USB charging cable. For continuous power, consider purchasing an optional Arlo solar panel charger.
Cleaning Your Camera
Periodically clean the camera lens and housing with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear video quality. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the camera's finish or lens.
Firmware Updates
Ensure your camera's firmware is always up to date. The Arlo Secure App will notify you of available updates and guide you through the installation process. Regular updates provide new features, security enhancements, and performance improvements.
Troubleshooting
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure your camera is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If you have a dual-band router, confirm the camera is connected to the 2.4GHz band.
- Poor Video Quality: Check for obstructions in front of the lens and ensure the lens is clean. Verify your Wi-Fi signal strength in the camera's location.
- Battery Draining Quickly: Reduce the number of motion events, shorten recording lengths, or decrease video quality settings. Consider using an Arlo solar panel for continuous charging.
- False Motion Alerts: Adjust activity zones in the Arlo Secure App to exclude areas with frequent, non-threatening motion (e.g., moving trees).
